Clip Channels to Board - which way round?

We do a lot of signs for property developers, so we purchase the 8x4ft dibond boards with the channels already riveted to the back of the boards, which is great as I know they are never going to shift. Disadvantage of this is that I have to apply the vinyl to the board by hand, which to be fair I need more practice at and struggle to do on my own.

So would it be better to buy the panels without channels, use my laminator to mount the graphic (which is what I do with every other flat panel), then apply the channels afterwards.

How do members works this, and if so how to you fix the channels?
Yes a mounters mate would be great, can't afford one.

Thanks

Rivets or vhb tape are your options. Ive always used tape and never had any problems

On something that size I personally wouldn’t risk VHB rails. I’m not saying it won’t work because I’ve never tried it, but I just wouldn’t risk it on something that size! Mounting by hand is the way to do it I’m afraid, or buy with print already applied from your supplier!

Yes, mount to the board, then add the channel.

Probably work out cheaper too.

Always worth popping a couple of rivets regardless of the size... I just don't trust VHB... Despite doing our own tests.
