Not seen that before but the combined heat of the engine and near horizontal angle for weathering will obviously make it's lifetime shorter. How ling has it been on?

Re: reflective vinyl gone rusty

I have had some reflective silver get black speckles in it after a couple of years, not as bad as your pic and only really visible close up, this was laid on top of black vinyl. Customer hasn't said anything and probably never will, but I would love to know what caused it.

Re: reflective vinyl gone rusty

This has nothing to do with it being applied onto black vinyl.

Do you have the same fail results on the sides or the rear of the vehicle? (thats assuming you have the same thing on each side?)

do you have any other pictures?

Not actually seen that before but you should be aware that under vehicle lighting regulations you are not allowed to put red reflective on the front of a vehicle, unless of course the regulations have changed & as I don't do much work now am out of date

Re: Reflective vinyl gone rusty, advice needed?

I would say its probably due to it being on the bonnet and the heat from the engine. I had a similar fail with foil and with prints over the years.
