Really Simple Invoicing Software

Hi Everyone, im just in the process of upgrading my invoicing software. I currently use Sage instant accounts but find it overly complicated and i dont use 90% of the features on there.

What are you guys using? and is there any recomendations or a definite avoid? i dont need anything too complicated just a basic invoicing software so i can email or print invoices per job and also a year end.

Has anyone used the online invoicing services such as xero?

Any help appretiated and thanks in advance.

Re: Really Simple Invoicing Software

We use sage, but like you don't need the other bits, just keep doing that tbh.

We like it because you input the customers details, which gives you a data base.

Then it's a simple discription of the goods, amount and price. Quite simple really. Are you struddling with it

Re: Really Simple Invoicing Software

We use sage instant accounts, although we use clarity to create quotes and send invoices to sage.

We use quite a few of it features, although I spend a lot of time looking at our figures (yes I'm a geek)

We have different nominal codes for different parts of the business, ie: small format sales, litho sales, dye sub sales, large format sales, vehicle graphics, with corresponding purchase nominals.

If helps us see what we're selling, and helps us decide when to invest in new machinery etc.

We run monthly management accounts profit & loss, and comparissons to the previous year.

Rich
if you want it just for invoicing try easy invoicing you can try it first very simple but gives you good tools for checking on money owing, statements etc use 8 instead of 9 but you can download both to try cost is just under £20.00 if you find you like it.

We now use sage one but previously the simplest one we found was an app based program call invoice2go. Available for iOS or android along with Windows.
Was very simple, easy to use and cheap.

Re: Really Simple Invoicing Software

In Sage, select the invoice template from the print menu, the click edit, on one of the top menu's you're able to set up the email settings, either outlook or SMTP.

In report designer you can edit the email body, subject and add attachements.

I seem to remember we had similer problems, instead we
Go to print the invoice, you should see several options, print, export, and a few others. We export which saves it to a folder, then we attach it to an email, hope that helps, sounds like it's the same way as yourself

Re: Really Simple Invoicing Software

another vote for Xero here, used for many years and is very simple, can also do your quotes and then simply turn them to invoice as well so more professional looking and also keeps track of quotes etc. Their support is excellent as well.
