Your views on Compatible Latex Ink please?

Anyone tried compatibles for the 26 and 25000, I was not aware there was any around yet but seems I was wrong and at a significant price diffrence.

What a great time to find out just as I was considering getting rid of my 26500 for a 330.

Would it just be the heads affected by running non compatible ink or does it go deeper, my current heads are all out of warranty anyway so if thats the only negative apart from the obvious then I might give it a go and report back.

Re: Your views on Compatible Latex Ink please?

I wasn't aware of compatible inks for HP Latex machines.
HP heads are cheap in comparison to most and they are also "plug & play". so not much of a gamble as i can't see how it would affect other "major" parts of the machine, but i could be wrong! However, I would guess that it would have some sort of impact on your machines warranty in general.
Would i gamble, having never heard of anyone else doing same long term, nop!

Sam Ink i believe is supplying third party latex inks & Sam Ink have supplied HP inks & spares for years, as far as i know they are a very good quality. Not sure you could use that as a recommendation for the latex but as said company knows HP printers inside out

Yes i know of SAM inks kev and agree on points. I could be wrong but i think SAM inks came up with latex inks before HP.
I dont think this will make valid any warranty claims though. Ide imagine it HP or nothing based on that.

Yeah agree Rob re warranty was just putting their name out there as no one knew about suppliers of it. I now everyone has their own opinions on 3rd party inks I used Lyson for years with no problems for the machines and can say i have signs still out their which have lasted years.
Sorry bit of a side track there

Re: Your views on Compatible Latex Ink please?

I did try the compats before I got rid of my 26500 and to be fair they were not bad but the colours were just not a good as the original. IF I had two machines I would consider running them in one 24/7 doing banners, H&S signs etc but being a one machine man im back to original HP inks.

I had no other issue though and carts installed as genuine HP inks and mixed straight with the original ink so from that side they were no problem.

Re: Your views on Compatible Latex Ink please?

I'd agree with Kev. I used compatibles for a while, but it just wasn't as good. I think it cost me a couple of printheads in the long run, but I can't be 100% sure about that. Either way, I'm back to originals and happier that way. Especially as the machine thanks me for installing originals :D
