I find it very cramped working on single monitor systems now. 3 is actually a lot better I find. I do all my work on the centre one and have email and iTunes on the outer two or Shiraz Server on one and Design or Signature on the other.... Also fantastic for panoramic desktops and games that support it too ;)

Using 2 for a few years now - far better.

Initially started off as 2 back to back to mirror the screen for customers, but soon as a single extended desktop.

Just the benefits of having 2 program full screen - say an email with a list of sizes from a customer and your design program, or dragging & dropping without the need to flip windows.

Easy too - most cards these days will have at least 2 ports.

I've got a 27" iMac at home but even that hi-res screen is no match for my PC with two 1920 x 1200's (better than the normal widescreen aspect ratio)

I run 2 screens too, so easy and so convenient. Productivity will increase.

Definitely worth having 2 screens, we set our additional one up yesterday, and its great to see it in action. My colleague suggested it ages ago. Its great not having to flick through/minimize lots of pages to get to what you want to be working on

Peter,

Doing this from memory so it might not be all correct.

Have a look at the back of your computer to see if your graphics card has two outputs, if it has then you can assume that it is possible to set up two monitors on it.

Plug in a second monitor in the other output, then go to your display properties (right click on a blank area of the desktop, then left click on display properties): here you should see a second screen that you need to activate (also, make sure you tick "extend desktop to this monitor") and that should be almost it.
You can move the screens around so you can tell windows where your two monitors are in relationship to each other.

Regards
George

Inspired by the replies, I finally picked up a cheap second hand monitor on the weekend, and can see the benefits already, Corel open on the main one, and then this second one for emails and forums!

We used one of these to make a twin 24" screen setup for the girl who handles our stock control;

Works a treat!! Am a bit jealous now - but I'll have to wait till the gaffer recovers from my last shopping spree!
