Can anyone give some reviews on the kpmf vinyl please?

Can anyone give some reviews on the above vinyl, as we had a rep in today offering cut, cast and wrap at a keen price. I've never used it before so I thought I could get some good advice from people who have.
Thanks

Matt

Ask the rep for some samples and try it for yourself, no point saving a couple of bob on the price of a roll of vinyl if you find it more difficult to work with yourself, most people will have a preference for a certain type of vinyl because they find it easier to work with themselves.

Like Jon says the wrap material is not on a par with some of the other materials available IMO. They set the standard in a way as theirs was the first that I am aware of but that was probably 10 years ago. From what I have been led to believe it hasn't changed at all and is the same material and spec they were selling back then. If you have any experience of more up to date films you may well struggle to fit the VWS stuff. May also explain why they are offering it to you at the price they are if that's cheaper than other films available.

We have used KPMF VWS range and have mixed feelings about it, the matt black (which is really more like satin) is not too bad to use and although not as quick to apply as using likes of 3M and Hexis it goes on ok and doesnt mark or go shiny as easily as full matt blacks, also the standard gloss range is ok but nothing special.
Would steer clear of the colour flip that they do as it we found it a real pain to apply as it goes matt really easily when stretched and/or heated and just results in a lot of wasted application time, prefer to just pay more for Hexis and halve the installation time on that type of finish.

Guess a lot is down to how individuals find materials, as one of our installers loves apa wrap vinyl and the rest of us run a mile from it, each to their own, get the samples and give it a whirl, nothing to lose.

Ian.

Ok......will take everything on board. They're selling wrap and laminate which equates to 200microns which I personally think is extremely thick. Haven't tried it yet tho. Like you say Ian ...each to their own eh.

Thanks all

KPMF Vehicle Wrap

KPMF cast manufacturing plant is in Newport, South Wales.

They are exhibiting at Sign UK 2011 to introduce some of their new ranges, including new vehicle wrapping films.

.... and it wouldn't be a sign show if they didn't have a wrapping demo on their stand!
