We have had our busiest December and January for as long as we can remember and to add to it, we are getting paid.

I am down about 30%, phones are very quiet, anybody who says this current climate is not hurting them is deluding himself/herself in my view.

I've made a sample leaflet up of a shop front before and after in foamex and with flat cuts applied and a choice of vinyl applied and have saturated the local villages, have had about 3 jobs from 500 drops.

I've been at it for 30 odd years, worse I have ever seen it. Luckily I have no mortgage etc so my overheads are very low, I feel for the young boys and girls starting out.

This is only our first year since starting up again in a different and difficult part of the Country (middle of nowhere in a deprived area) but I am pleased with the amount of business we are getting over Dec-Jan- Feb (always used to be a very quiet time before).

Even had a customer insisting I take full payment before job was even started the other day !!

Something strange going on................

Only been going for a few months now, but work is picking up.
And it's steady flow, which is good at the moment.

I guess people are realising, they need to start using van signage to try and get some more work in now.

We're about to start doing a full page advert in a local newspaper twice a month, so we'll see if things pick up more after that.

November/December were excellent, January was, and is, always dead. February is starting off pretty quiet though. My two biggest customers have postponed all contracts until things pick up (whatever that means) so that is not looking good for the next few months unfortunately.

Still getting floods of work in, from regular customers and new, even from people setting up from new. I keep expecting the bottom to fall out, but at the moment things are OK.

January was my best month for a while

4-5 shops opening 3 of which with descent budgets a small fleet of 10 vans plenty of banners plus all the usual bits and pieces.
February not looking quite as good but getting booked up I'm pleased to say.

I'm quietly optimistic :-? after a terrible year, last year

very busy at the minute with chunky jobs, seem to also be picking up alot of new customers which is nice.

Although i think we feel busier than we actually are, as we have just purchased our second premises and are turning it into a state of the art premises.

We really cant grumble.

Very interesting results so far, I am no statistician, but the numbers suggest that we are in a more serious situation than I thought.
Rob can you lock this post, I would like to do the same poll at the start of May, and see the comparison for the next 3 months
