fantasy football league, anyone?

I am considering setting up a fantasy football league for anyone on here who fancies it. The league is the one connected with the official Premiership site. It is totally free and there are prizes given away. I have been in various leagues with my friends over the last 3 years and it is great fun!

It is very simple to put a team together and you will probably end up watching Match of the Day every Saturday to see how your players have done.

I will not bore you with the rules etc.. you can read them on the website.

Any takers?? If so I will get a league going

OK OK TIME OUT!!! I can see we have a few rivalries going on here.

I have set up the fantasy league so here are the directions as follows: (god I hope I have done this right, or Joey Barton will be visiting me to kick my teeth in!!)

1. Log onto www.premierleague.com

2. To the right of the screen you will find the fantasy football registration section.

3. Enter a user name and pass word and fill in the rest of the gubbings

When you have selected your team (please read the rules they are very basic) To the left of the screen you will see a pop out named 'Leagues'

Select this.

Chose 'Join a League'

Our league is called: Sign Makers United

Our pass code is 153694-45729

And Welcome to 8 months of football!!

There is also a forum for abusive messages if needed. Look forward to seeing you all there.

COME ON PEOPLE THIS IS GOOD FUN!!

The first game of the season is 16th August. After that game is when the fun starts as we will be able to see everyone elses team selection. Your team has to be entered by 11.00am on the 16th. Remember the transfer rules and play your wild card wisely! (you only get one)

I won't join if you don't mind. I already play my own version of 'fantasy' football every season, following the fortunes of Cardiff City, West Ham Utd and Hartlepool FC.

Peter.

Firstly choose a team of players which you think will do well. It might be well looking towards the Gerrards, Ronaldos, Lampards, Ferdinands. There is a whole host of last seasons points scorers on the site at the moment. You have 100million to spend. Once you have chosen your team keep your eye on the stats, who is getting points who isn't who is injured. It is basically being a football manager. The game will become clearer when we approach the 10th game of the season and players form in the stats table becomes apparent.

The stats tables will show who is getting a regular place in the team, who is scoring most goals, who is providing the assists. who is saving the most goals and which defenders are doing the best. The first 10 games are hit and miss. Play you wild card when you feel. You can transfer your whole team without any deduction of points. You only have one wild card. You can make one free transfer every gameweek. Any other transfers in the same game week will deduct you 4points.

Any other questions Peter I will gladly answer.

Remember..You can change your whole team time and time again up to 11.00am 16th Aug. Thats when the game begins

You are free to swap your team around until 16th August. Best thing you can do is clear all the team out and start again. (In the transfers section)
