will vehicle outline import into flexisign?

Hello people...

I am currently looking to buy vehicle outlines and have downloaded some samples to play around with...

When I open flexisign pro and click on open... I then open the file (in AI format) it then shows the vehicle on my screen but when I design around the vehicle and then goto cut.. it's no where near big enough...

Forgive me if I sound stupid, but I was led to believe that these vehicle outlines are pre measured (so, I could design a logo & then hit cut and it would do it for that vehicle)...

Any pointers PLEASE!!!!

Thanks

Alan

Not sure how you would do it in flexi.
I don't use flexisign pro because I can't afford it but it will be amongst the tutorials, I would suggest you work your way through them as you will learn just about everything you need to.

The ai files are usually 1:20 the eps are full size in impact I think. but if you import the image you shoul have a button or tool bar that allows yoy to rezise as a percentage, I think in this case 200%

The files on our web site are scaled to 1-20, so need to be scaled up. However on the disk the EPS files are full size so don't need to be scaled. They are scaled down on the samples as some software packages will not import full size vehicles because of working area restrictions. I will shortly be putting full size samples on the web site, have been meaning to do it for ages

some programs do not allow the percentage required. I import AI files, scale 1000% then 200%, perfect everytime with Impact outlines

It has Rigid Trucks & Tractor Cabs. Lists what it covers on the web site. You will get the best price if you become a member here :)

Alan,

I have flexi and the impact outlines. You will need to use the re-size function at 2000% - using AI file provided. They have always been spot on for me and have never had a problem although I do measure to double check if you going right to the edge of panels etc (something I try and avoid).

The impact disk and some magnetics (search for VKF Renzel) to hold the backed vinyl are the best money you will spend to make your life easier on doing these I find.

Alan,

The way I work, in Illustrator with Impact outlines, is to do my drawings to scale, usually 1:25 but often smaller. Basically whatever scale is needed to make it fit on an A4 sheet so that both us and our clients can print it out. We only specify the actual output size in the cutting software when actually producing the decals.

Many of our clients use wildly different sizes of vehicle and by doing it that way we can use the same file to produce graphics for a Fiesta van or an Iveco.

In Flexisign you can import the full size file but be careful as none of these disks are perfect sizes. its ok for layouts and proofs but you still need to double check on the van.
We use digital photos for almost everything now. Just take a few photos and some measurments and scale it to full size. This way you know where all the badges, extra locks, dents Etc are.
