Stopping the sub process

Hi,

Which is the best way of stopping the sub-process on a mug.

I remove the transfer paper and then put the mug in the water, but I found using a knife to remove the heat tape sometimes causes a scratch in the glaze, I was thinking of just filling the mug with water with the paper still in situ, but I was worried about blurring or over exposing.

cheers

Hi Mark

When taping the transfer to the mug - I allow an inch of tape to go above the mug, then fold it back on itself to create a 'tab'

Then when the mug comes out of the press, I pull on this tab, to remove the transfer paper, then put the mug in water.

Regards

Martin

I do as Martin said above, also use a 5 fingered oven glove to get a good grip on the mug.

Thanks Guy's

I didn't think of leaving a tab, I'll try that today

Michael - I hope it's a dark coloured and masculine oven glove mate!

I just use my fingernails :lol1:

Remember not to have the water to cold, when you dunk the mug, or it could make the handle crack away from the mug, and never place under a running cold tap you can hear the mug go  Been there and learnt the hard way.
