You could try Alan Flynn, he is in Cheshunt. He has a look on here quite often & sells P-Cut cutters. I assume yours is some kind of Chinese one too? never heard the name before. Or if you get really stuck I may be able to have a look, can't guarantee to get it working though. I am in Stevenage.

They are a bit like older Rolands. Pretty solidly built.

They won't win any prizes for speed but get there eventually :D

I would buy it from somebody in the UK for piece of mind though, there are a few people selling them direct from China I think.

I would say Signlab Vinyl would be better choice Dawn.

It would be the very latest version. It is upgradeable so you can add stuff to it. RRP is £800+vat before haggling so maybe a little more than the ES Euro but not much :)

They come in full size. They aren't locked not sure how they could be? they are just vectored graphics the same as any other. In the "VIEW" menu you have "show text outlines" selected. You need to turn that off. The reason you can see it when you weld is because it's no longer text. It's nothing to do with your new monitor :)

Our Vehicle Outlines will import into Artcut, as I said albeit without the colours. But you will get the outlines to import. Artcut won't import any outlines properly, it's a problem with the software not the outlines. So I wouldn't waste much more time trying. A better option maybe for you to buy a...

A dongle is a security device, it will plug into your parrallel or usb port. If you don't have one then you may have a cracked copy. Not good :-? I don't think you will get any Vehicle Outlines to import into Artcut. Ours will import but you will lose the colour information. The problem is with Artcut's import filters not the outlines themselves. If you have a legit version of Signlab I would use that. The program is infinately better than Ar...

Think you could find yourself in trouble even if it has your own design.

I would guess putting "winnie the pooh" on anything probably infringes copyright, no matter how it's done.

What's wrong with it? it may be something you/Roland can diagnose, then reapir yourself. They are usually fairly helpful. My mate managed to fix his fairly old Resolve printer/cutter that way. And he never even purchased it though Rolan originaly.

Phil, you can still use the parallel port dongle with Signlab 7.1.

If you want to swap to a USB dongle you have to send your old dongle back plus part with £75+vat. So most people stick with their old dongle.

Pete, you can leave 4.95 on your old PC swap the dongle no problems. The demo version of 7.1 needs XP to run as well as the full program.

Ahh! well I have answered your question in the other post :D

Sorry you can't update from Signlab 4.95 to version 5.0. You have to update to the latest version. Because Signlab 5.0 is a very old version now, Cadlink no longer have program cd's, manuals or issue version 5.0 passowrds.

What version of Signlab do you have Vinylman? older versions won't have a specific driver as the P-Cut hasn't been around long enough. Why don't you use your Graphtec with a usb cable? then you can have both without a switch box. The P-Cut will work on older versions on some of the HPGL drivers, let...

A lot of people would still use version 4.95 if it ran properly on Wondows XP. You best hope when the next version of Windows come along you won't have the same problem! a lot of people have upgraded from 4.95 not really because they want to, more they bought a new PC & had to upgrade.

I think that 7.1 only comes with some of the eyecandy and adobe effects, If you want the full range you have to cough up more dosh, I stand to be corrected, Perhaps a Cadlink supplier board member could elaborate? The Eye Candy is MUCH easier to use in Signlab 7.1. In Signlab 5.0 you have to convert your object to a bitmap, then select the area you wanted the effect with the magic wand tool. Now as Peter says you can apply the effects directly to vectors. Signlab 7.1 Print & Cut also comes with a number o...

Steve, the price of Vinyl Pro has gone up by £150 to £1500, it was £1350 on version 7.0.

So you should have got 7.0 cheaper than you can get 7.1.

onestop, the King Cut shares almost all the same parts as the P-Cut so I don't think purchasing one of those is the answer to your problems.

For example: keep an eye on the prices that Roland PNC1000 go for quite regularly. It was a fine machine in its day but now it is too narrow; too slow; you can't get spares, it has a 1600mm cut limit. I've seen them go for £600-900. Roffs, as Peter says any of the suppliers of the Cadet will be able to organise a lease purchase deal. Sometimes it works out a bit more expensive than a bank loan or similar. It can have tax advantages though it depends of your circumstances.

Asif, I don't think they are as aggresive as the solvent inks. So will probably not be as durable. If you are switching from the Versacamm because of the durability issue I would stick with the standard inks.

You can probably run the machines from Flexi using one of Flexi's HPGL drivers. I know you can run the P-Cut machines from Signlab using aHPGL driver.

Most cutters speak a version of HPGL :)

You don't want to use the driver that came with the Graphtec. You need to install the driver in Signlab if you haven't already... I assume you are using the windows driver in Corel Fred. What about in Signlab? you are not using the windows driver in that too are you?

Also what version of Signlab is it?

Oh & things should be much simpler if you stick to Signlab for cutting. Lot trickier in Corel.

You lost me a bit there mate... When you install signlab it copies them into a fonts directory... on 4.95 I think it was something like C:\signlab\fonts When you copy a font to your computer you have to install the font via File & Install Fonts in Signlab. If you install the program it does this...

It's not a proper Signlab package & has almost zero design capabilities. It's basically just a cutter driver to be used with Corel etc.

It is Signlab ES composer a pretty basic cheap version. Probably a couple of hundred quids worth at most as it's an old version. I personally wouldn't pay £900 for an Ioline plotter & Signlab ES, + it may well go for more than the £900 I guess?

I would get the dongle number 1st if I were you and call Cadlink or one of thier dealers to find out what it is.

If it's a decent SDignlab package I would say it's well worth it.
