There is a script at www.oberonplace.com that can do the similar thing as Jason's link but I'm not sure if it is compatible with Draw V8 - I suspect not but maybe worth having a look.

Chris I don,t think you are awkward at all, I fully appreciate different work flows and I will try the print driver. If loads of people use this I can suggest more cut friendly features are added to Draw. I personally tend to do much of my design in Draw (if I'm not doing it in Signlab) and then exp...

Chris, I've not tried your driver yet but just for interest would you mind trying this with CM as it should significantly speed things up. Import your outlines (I used Brian's eps) these came in as a group. Open Corel's object manager docker and drag the outline into the Desktop layer (this is not p...

That's interesting Chris and I must admit I've only used simple thing for cutting, I'll try with something a bit more involved. Can you point me to where I can get the printer driver you use?
Cheers

I'm curious now Chris, which bits don't you like? I'm not suggesting you're wrong or anything I'm just interested and I wouldn't mind taking a look at the printer driver you use.

X4 is a major improvement over V12 if only a slight one over X3. You will also notice contours are now beziers not short sraight lines and the import/export filters are also better particularly pdf. Ensure it is the latest build - should be 14.0.0.653. Graeme to speed up font display you can turn of...

I just select the bits in Corel that I want to cut. I like Cutting Master and the latest version looks pretty slick. It is from Scanvec so I'm guessing its a Flexi cut down. I still prefer Signlab's cutting but for a freebie it's as good as you'll get. Chris does the printer driver have autoweld? Al...

Could be TMT paper requires the modification, perhaps other manufacturers of transfer paper have a product which is less fussy.

Acedemic versions of X3 I don't think have VBA nor do some oem versions. All versions of X4 do. If you have X4 you will need the latest version of Cutting Master (1.5) available for download from Graphtec USA

Phill as you already have SL 7.1 I would upgrade your Corel to X4 and run them side by side, this is the method I use and it works very well. New cutters generally have a plugin for Corel (I use Winplot for the Summa and cutting Master for the Graphtec but generally I either export from Draw into SL...

Yes Draw will distort radiused cornerd rectangles, it has been that way all of the time, it has been much discussed in various forums but the only solutions I am aware of are as follows: Know your rectangle size at the beginning and radius last job (not very practical) Convert to curves and size wit...

I get charged by the running metre rather than the square metre too and understandingly 1 metre is the minimum run that said I fill up any spare space with other jobs - labels etc. Always supply them with a print ready file though so no messing their end.

Cutting Master has far more cut friendly features ie auto weld and tiling than a print driver, it must use gpgl as the plotter language and with the version I tried the resolution in the software had to match the plotter or there were sizing issues. I don't think the language would affect the way it...

It's probably your colour management Shane, X3 was changed to represent CMYK by default, goto the colour manager and click the button to RGB this should help, also go through the profiles in X3 and ensure they are the same as your V12 setup. FYI mine are set to: Adobe - RGB 1998 for the central colo...

Good method Chris, as far as I'm aware only the bespoke sign software sizes text as a signmaker would expect (not as a printer would though) FWIW it has been a topic of discussion within the Corel forums and I will keep on plugging away for a 'sign mode' as I think it is relevant considering the num...

The CDL file id for Signlab only. In X3 use the import option and choose the eps filter (X4 users use PS filter) from the the next dialoge box select import as editable and the outline should import. If you put the outline on another layer and lock it you won't pick it up by mistake when creating yo...

This actually is as designed. Signmakers measure the cap as the height but in the printing industry the type size is taken with accenders and descenders taken into consideration. Easiest way is to put an H of the required font on screen - size it to required size - read off the point/mm size and the...
