I would check the blade offset.
Check that all grub screws on any gears that the motor drives are tight.
Get new rollers.

Martin there is Translucent black your correct, I have never actually noticed it let any light through.

It does go down better on acrylic I feel when covering a large area and ties in
with the more satin type finish translucents have.

Just another thought, have the modules failed or caused a higher load on the cables generating the excess heat.

This increased heat has caused the foam burn.

I don't do led's but are fuses fitted the 12v side as a safety measure?
Looks a great potential fire risk if there was more plastic.

Color Bridge has Solid Pantone colour with the CMYK Process colour shown next to it with cmyk values, also RGB values and HTML value.

It will give you a better understanding of colours that are difficult to match from
solid Pantone colours to cmyk as cmyk has a smaller colour gamut.

How large is the sign?

Just curious as you mention tight budget, opal isn't cheap and to do it properly
if it requires rebating all takes time and translucent vinyl more expensive that standard vinyl.

Avoid it like the plague.

Yes have some form of digital machine for very small runs and a guillotine.

The rest farm out, good margins to be had if you put the right jobs with the right printers.

Small scale litho is dead, unless you concentrate on a specific bespoke line.

Null Modem cable for serial on that.
You also need to set the DIP switches so the baud rate etc is the same as the serial on the PC end.

Im Corel I would put one of the tyre marks at say 12 o'clock on the world circle then double click it and move the centre it rotates around to the centre of the world circle. Duplicate it and rotate.

Only tip I can offer is if you take any covers off keep it connected to the mains (not on) so it is earthed. They have EEPROMS which can be temprimental from any static shocks, also run it from an anti surge if you don't already. I would give it a good blow out with canned air and use a light sewing...

It's a bit like a lathe to rotate the core and it looks like the one in Robs link has the cutter driven also I presume to stop it skidding.

The same sort of set up is used to cut rolls of foil for foil blocking / hot foiling. Although the cutter usually isn't driven.

I think it could be a combination of factors, if the acrylic has expanded since fitting then it would be the same as Phils drawing with the locators being pushed out. Contributing to the failing bond to the composite.

If they are wanting to go black I think it would be the worst colour for shrinkage due to heat if you mitre.

Is the test cut not a built in machine feature? so nothing to do with interface.

Check the blade offset is correct and check the blade turns ok in it's holder as there is a small bearing in it.

As has been said poor quality paint job.

Removed some graphics from a clients car the other week and paint came off in one area.

At the right angle you could see it had a poor repair in that section.
With the fine scratches from being rubbed down visible.

Hugh holes probably drilled by the powder coaters and not Ashby, although Ashby should specify or drill themselves if it's critical.

Panels etc are hung off the production line as they go through the powder spray booth and then the oven.

Use the SSD as scratch / temp drive.

Although i assume (Not 100% sure) at some point the system will only be as quick as it's slowest bottleneck in the processing process.

Why not try a local fabricators / powder coaters for a solid aluminum tray.

Ashby don't coat in house, neither do Blackburns.

Ashbys minimum coating charge always seems to blow small job pricing, best thing they could of done would of been buy a powder coating co. not SMP.

If money wasn't a problem I would do a tray with louvered type vents in the front face. At least then it could all be powder coated the same colour.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is the flashing or felt along the top.
Don't forget that, you don't any problems with water.


As for the gas pipe, seen better / seen worse seems to be standard practice with older places being worse.

Proper translucent vinyl in my view is the only option, it's what it's designed for. Standard vinyl will look crap - I hope you have priced this for translucent as it's more expensive. also I would never show artwork to a client like this as it's misleading - why didn't you just use a shade of grey ...

The lift sticks don't chip and resist quite a bit of heat.

I just scrape a new scalpel blade across the edge at an angle to scrape off some of the plastic and create a new edge.

Yep

Their like a plastic type chisel scraper to put it simply.
About 20mm wide 150mm long, you can re sharpen the edge.
They are handy to help lift the corners of vinyl, once you get the knack they are good.

Obviously a personal preference.

I would also try and get a copy of brand guidelines as it's a long established brand that has been through many logo changes over the years.

What I believe is the current logo is pretty straight forward, so would think you could do it in translucent cut vinyl.

You could also utilise the straps to rivet a back panel to. Knotching out around where the girders get in the way.

Give the customer the option of visible straps or not.

Also to total enclosure stops some muppet being able to swing on anything.

Cheryl hope this rough out helps.

If you flip the tray on the bench, lay the angle in the correct way and the baton to check the spacing is just right for a snug but not too tight fit.

The baton is purely to help when you fit for the angle spacing.

You can cut direct from corel using the roland print driver no 3rd party plug in. Set lines to 0.01 point.

As Peter said I can see oven size being an issue. No idea if you can actually get sheet that large to start with. I would be concerned as to it's fixing - you can't just lump the extra weight onto a shutter box. Also that is a large return on the bottom edge I think it would need some sort of fillet...

Loads of trade places doing way better quality on 400gsm board with matt / gloss lam double sided at silly prices.

Why Vista when you can get 250 4:4 400gsm D/S lam for £24 delivered.

Like signage, litho is being de-valued by this cheap sh!te

You can always weld the back and front to create the lower drop shadow layer so you don't see the lower layer outline up close.

Although this takes more precise alignment when fitting.

Thanks Gary - The Plex budget range apparently flew off the shelf due to price, Hampshire flag did them as well and are out of stock so I assume the purchased from Plex.

It was about £100 cheaper for 4 poles / rails.

Found this guy with the same error.

The issue was that the plotter was on "mode 1" and had to be changed to "mode 2" via the menu on the plotter.

It might be a roll pin not a grub screw.

Can you see anything in the hole Cheryl like threads?

A roll pin is like a tube with a slit along it, it is pushed into the hole under pressure. Usually when a roll pin is used there will be a hole through the pulley on both sides.

You can use regular vinyl on the front face IF you have light block / stop vinyl applied to the rear face of the panel.

Obviously you cut the light stop out from the areas you wish light to pass through.

Bit of a strange one that - the 4 colour mix has 32% black it's sort of grey / brown.

Mactac 8329-13 (sandstone) isn't bad for the right sort of colour hue.

I don't think you can loose the palette off the edge as you can have it in a separate window or I presume another monitor.
