Link to download that Orafol video rather than view it streaming online only.

http://www.orafol.com/fileadmin/flv/carwrapping_en.flv

Click save when it asks what to do, or right click link and save target as.

Apologies, I am very much a beginner.

I was under the impression that lamination of unprinted vinyl for vehicle wraps would protect the vinyl much more from gasoline spills, scratches and accidental abrasive cleaners than leaving it "bare".

All advice welcome. Thankyou.

how do i go about doing a simple one colour wrap change?

Hi, As I have to start somewhere, and given the recent plethora of wrap posts, I am joining a friend who has done signs but not wrapping and we are going to play with a car. (non-customer job). Looking to do a straight colour change, red to gloss white. All the vehicle wrap materials that I've seen ...

Oh, I can post something helpful to clarify!! A "mil" is also known and is the same as a "thou". It is nothing to do with millimetres, but the confusion caused to Joe Public who thought it did, means it has fallen from use in all but a few industries bar the ones concerned with f...

what material are cotton gloves made from?

Hi,

Are the cotton gloves I've seen being used on various vinyl demonstrations, solid cotton ones like Masonic/Dinner gloves, or the cheaper stockinette ones with lots of little holes in the weave?

Thankyou,

Regards

Ivan

Obviously this is a signmakers forum not a computer forum, so I'll make this brief. More platters means more noise and more heat. These days there is little performance gain, the difference between most 7200rpm harddisks is single digit percentages, so I really would not bother with number of platte...

I wasn't advocating SCSI (yet) as this is a much more expensive route. I suspect, but cannot verify without knowing what exactly the machine is modelwise, or systemboard wise, that it already has the capability onboard for using SATA RAID. For the sake of £100, I would look at taking out the 150Gb d...

Coming from the computer industry, there is nothing wrong with that machine, in fact it's got a very fast processor, memory etc. That kind of size of image takes a lot of memory, and when physical memory runs out, it hits the harddisks. That's what you need to sort out. How many harddisks are in the...

What is the difference between 851 & 751c?

Newbie alert!! As explained to Robert Lambie when I applied to join the site and pay my membership, I am shortly being made redundant after 18 years, and am seriously considering to use the money to enter the signmaking world. I already have web design experience and am well versed in Corel Draw 3 t...

I was looking at The Vinyl Corporations website the other day. As a newbie question, would Oracal 870 have done this job? They do 20 solid colours, it's dedicated cast wrapping film, gloss or matt. Is this 870 stuff able just to be installed as a solid colour as the parent poster asked, or would it ...

lol! I missed that date too. I've just joined and was browsing the Forums! Don't worry, I'm member of quite a few car forums (Nurburgring) and Moderator (BMW) so I know not to raise threads from the dead. I just slipped up on this one as I didn't realise how old they were as I scrolled down the page...

Hi Robert. I see that the Video Tutorials and the like on the home page require a paid membership. If I have done my sums right, then I need to pay £65 to see them all. Are they embedded 320x240 videos like YouTube, or are they a better DIVX style sized video that shows what's going on properly? Als...

Academic versions of software like Microsoft Office and Corel Draw are simply not licensed for commercial use. It used to be with Office that you actually bought an empty box except for a form, this was signed by teacher/head of school and you sent it off before receiving the CD to install. Nowadays...

Hi From Dorset

Hi Guys'n'Gals Hello from sunny Bournemouth. After 18years with the same company, am being made redundant. Still awaiting to see how much or how little I get, but if it's enough, am looking to get into the sign business as my own boss! I'm pretty fluent in Corel Draw, from v7 through to v10, dabbled...
