Cheers guys, we popped the lights out but just trimmed into the bump strip, they are on with D/S tape and loose shape etc when removed so they always look crappy refitted so the customer was happy to have them left in place

Cheers for your input guys, we have used a bit of the hexis high tack vinyl on car plastics, i was curious if it had been tried on a metal surface with low energy slightly stippled paint

Hi Im having an issue with my mimaki where at the top qtr of the material isnt cutting as well as the rest, the weight is set perfectly for cutting but anything that is on the top qtr cuts like its way too light, can anyone help with this?

just to close this nightmare, we got through it not too bad, it hold a great print but it is the most unlikable vinyl we have ever used, so it was a big learning curve and it goes in the never again files

I agree Jon, i thought being a new product it would have an adhesive that was a bit more advanced, we needed 25 mtrs as they do a kit that size and everyone else over here do the rolls in 15 or 45 mtr kits

Yes the new md-Xb has no air release system, they say it's for deap recesses and I was of the understanding air release still has issues on tough bends, they where loose on the roll on Saturday then later out flat on Sunday

Sorry meant to say, it has a great finish and a nice feel, the squeegee glides on it real nice too but bits like when going into the recesses where you heat the flat and shape the bend, the bend goes in lovely but the flat bit that still needs pushed down just bubbles like crazy

If you look at most vans nowadays the lines are all different, we do the sill way too, there will even be a ridge on the sill where the underseal comes up to, we use that alot

Cheers for getting back Rob, yeah the ones that are like the tubes that stand off the wall on brackets and the banner sits a bit smaller with bungee cord laced through the banner and around the frame, it is to go to a peak on a building so a bit of an odd shape, I'm going the way of just screwing it...

Sorry forgot to say it wasn't easy apply or air release and it was a grey back vinyl, I don't know the avery range as we don't have suppliers over here in Northern Ireland, it was through the print company and we were told it was to be 3M

ummm just got a quote in on the sign block for the size i need in 50mm board with primer and glue etc its coming in at just under £1000 :o :o this is for supply only and then my time for machining, Prep and paint then fitting.. i can see why the other guys arent stocking it much :(

Sam ive just had a supplier on with me about a product call signblock and it looks the job, its pricey but not too bad and it only comes 4' X 4' but can butt together nice, it is also nice and light but looks heavy so there is a win point.. if i get the job and go with this ill put a few pics up

here we have our first full car wrap completed today, we have wrapped vans etc but this was the first colour change one, its harder to hide any blunders as there is no print to divert the eyes :( still it was good craic and a good learning curve

yeah Paul i change the clear strips as well when im at it, there is a bad build up off gunk that gathers up in there and i change them to help the movement as much as i can

thanks for getting back guys, the file it sticks on isnt a big file and ive re installed the program so the print cue is empty, it does print other files but can muck up every now and then aswell, its vers 2.02

i do do the cleaning every week but it has started saying time for maintenance, this isnt a big problem as enter clears the warning but its for over weekends when it turns on to self clean it stops with this warning so it doesnt clean or turn off again :(

Matt you hold down on the text tool icon and it displays 4 different text styles, the 3rd one is "path text tool" then click on your line you want to follow and type away, then change the bits you dont like :)

ok, heres the latest, i gave every part i could a good clean, swabbed the heads, cleaned the track and the vinyl, flushed the tubes etc and still it is doing the same thing, it has me a broken man :(

Derek i have it running the profiles it came with for Citrosol - 720V CS CMYK RS743 Uniform UD5 Gloss White Vinyl 5YR Print - Bi directional Dots - Variable Overprint - 1 Pass count - 16 Head speed - 700 time between pass - 0.1 im a bit of a technophobe when it comes to changing the settings etc :(

Cheers Kev, i had replaced my cable last year and it still prints great, but im in a bit of trouble now as it wont engage with its capping station and i cant find the wee winder to manually put the capping stations up :(

when it does it on my cadet it waits until it has printed say 2mts of a banner then it prints all over the place and then stops which is very frustrating and its costing me money on time and waste :(

gravesy Ive just tried ITL inks and they arent brilliant but they are far from bad my machine runs Citrosol so its full mild solvent, a few flushes with colourific and a few with ITL cleaner then away it goes ITL carts are £29.99 for 220ml which aint that bad, nearly half price smart-inkjet.co.uk John

the sides were done in a fit of madness and ive never been happy with them, as i said the back was just something i was playing with on screen, im happy with the print i have on there, but need the rest of the van a bit snappier

Thanks for your input Neil, i know all about my white space, it is actually better spaced on screen when full size

i have an image on the back at the minute with no real writing on it and it has brought me work just as it is, it must be the curiosity i guess

i get ya Jill, I had sign making because that many people still don't pick up on the fact that i make signs!! + when it is all right justified it goes in a better slant... the dude on the back was just a thing i was playing with, if it caught the eye then they would want to know more and read around...

Cheers warren, we are pretty much on the same promotion push apart from the radio station idea :) its just tough right now and nowere in the town are even doing their shops up for crimbo, roll on feb and hopefully people will start spending again

this is of interest to me too, the old way of a scrapper is ok but the frosted is so brittle & cleaning off the glue is not a fun job, to refit i do it with water and a wee bit of fairy liquid

Anyone else got tips on this?
