Just wondering if Giclee prints are any different to printing on my VP300, Just the general things like quality, longevity, colour etc, am being asked by a customer. so can I say that it is just a different way of printing but no better than I can produce on my versacamm?

5mm seems to be very innacurate, only time our sp300 had this problem was when one of the clamps had split and was not holding the vinyl with enough force, hence movement in the vinyl

we had the same problem, only two out of four outer lines would cut or print. changing the eps border as detailed above cured it for us - all it does is creates a border around the outside of the file wich means all cut lines and printed lines are now well within the file, hey why not give it a go? ...

Yep had this, never could work out why, I waited for it to open then cleared out the job list, which helped with the loading time, after about 3 weeks for some reason it cleared it self and started opening as normal

I did that, then I needed to verify the printer, so had to find the IP address, it has cleared out the job log but is still slow in loading files, I was also kicked off the network so had to sort that out as well. So fun afternoon was had

Another thing you can see quite often is the reflection of the sun of the various comms satelites these will fade in from nothing to much brighter than a plane light and then fade out to nothing again within a minute - irridium flares. Again these are predictable events.

I started the versacamm next day, and it worked fine and has so ever since. Sometimes just turning it off and back on again can clear faults. Luckily I had checked it, as I had just organised a call out from an engineer.

I dont think your going to find a foil that will give you an etch glass effect, but I would imagine you could reverse print onto etch glass vinyl, or you could possibly apply etch glass vinyl to clear static cling in the areas that you need it to be opaque (on the reverse), if it is something simple...

My Dads, 70th birthday is coming, and he wants a scanner, printer, photocopier. Its a three in one he wants, so I just wanted some advice on what to get him, needs to be reasonably decent. With the option of going for the cheaper 3rd party inks would be nice as well.

At the moment I have 500meters of files that open every time I use versaworks, I would like to save the ripped versions for future consistency and to save the 5 minutes it now takes to open the program.

I have heard a rag soaked in petrol will remove the residue left behind when you peel it off. I had a young lady come in a few days ago, I gave her a care sheet and advised her to remove them regularly and clean behind - her reply was "well I wont bother with doing that.

If your cutting after printing do not have the rollers placed anywhere that they will track through the print when it feeds back through. I would place them outside the printable area.

I think that the adjustments in setting the heads are determined by firing patterns and then making decisions by eye - where your going to get the information you need i dont know. If somebody has been playing around with head adjustments and managed to (oh i swore !) it up what else have they done!...

Most amateurs use a ccd or a webcam attatched to the scope then rather than taking one exposure - take a series of pictures that are stacked by software to create one image, benefits being that an hour long exposure could be ruined by anything that moves in front of the telescope -a bird, cloud etc....

The Gerber edge can do double sided prints in one go. or you can reverse print onto clear then laminate with printed white vinyl - will probably need a middle layer of silver to block out.

I think the nikkalite from paperco is a class 2 product, the flourescent you need to be aware that alot of them only have a six month shelf life but i am fairly sure that scothcal do one with a 2 year life that will be Spandex then!

I would print 3 across by however many slit between the rows with a knife wind them onto a core (cut down the carboard tube the vinyl comes on) then join each row with tape. Its not ideal but some customers do insist on rolls rather than sheets.

Before dealing with Beta Banners we could only offer 3 or 4 diferent widths of banner because this is all they could be supplied in off the roll, wich is why we changed supplier. Now if we need anything we phone up beta banners "we need x banners y wide by z high in such a colour" I may be being den...

Beta banners 01875 616162 will make up banners to whatever colour, size u want 70p sq foot - 7.40 sq mt all colours same price

We used to print onto photoluminescent vinyl with the edge with varying results, one from allprint was good to print on this was a couple of years ago though, we use a different product now wich doesnt go through the edge so we print onto clear and then apply to the photoluminescent.

How about putting the mph on the top of the arc and keep the rest the same. I have a bike that is british registered with the speedo in km/h only!
