Use the pen tool in Photoshop to draw a path around your object. Then from the paths pallet (on the same tab as the layers pallet) save path, then when you save your file the clipping path will be saved with it

The plug in software for Illustrator is now very good, but then again I am bias.

It also has a good plug in for corel on the PC, and is also supplied with some basic text generating software which is not so good, but will get you through at a push

Hi pvluk It does sound like your cutting strip is knackerd, or possiby you have the wrong offset or blade set up on the control panel. If you are using a blue blade holder, make sure the offset is set to CB09U If using a red blade holder set it to CB15U If that doesn't work, give one of our engineer...

There are loads of email problems at the moment. Basically the ISP's are coming down hard on the spammers and upgrading their anti spam systems. In my case, I get my Graphtec emails diverted from my Graphtec address to my personal email address. This confuses the servers and they see it as junk mail...

If your cutter has a blue tip you are using the 09U (0.9mm dia) blade.

Hi Ray

The CE3000-120 driver is already built into FlexiSign. If you go to Production manager and 'Add Setup' then in the lefthand window choose 'Graphtec' you should see the CE3000-120 listed. The MkII uses the same driver, there should be no difference.

Hi Joseph

I think you mean Cutting Master. It is supplied with all new Graphtec cutters. I think it only works with a USB connection, so may not work with your FC4100. Also your plotter must be set to GPGL not HPGL.

HI Ray,

The Graphtec runs in two different languages, HPGL and GPGL. It sounds like your friends Graphtec is set up to run in GPGL.

Flexi only works in HPGL. IF you go into the menu's on the plotter and find the Interface settings, you can switch it to HPGL

How much too big?

for example, is a 6" letter cutting 6.25", or is a 6" letter cutting 12"?

Try looking at the resolution setting, I think it should be 1270 from memory

On his Mac, he can format a disk as a PC disk. If he does that then saves his illustrator file as normal you should have no problem.

One small thing, Mac does not use extension, tell your customer to make sure that when he saves his file he calls it something.ai
