Clean the grit roller with meths and an old toohbrush to loosen any old bits of vinyl that may be attached and remove any residue. I very seldom buy full rolls of vinyl mostly 10-15 mtr roll lenghts at a time and I have never experieced any problems with tracking. What type of backing paper is it ? ...

If you print onto coated vinyl and then overlaminte with clear vinyl what happens is the coated vinyl acts as a sponge and will soak moister in from around the edges and will eventually get in between the two layers. Brian

I would have thought that you should be able to get pigmented inks for that size of machine ? It would be worth spending sometime trying to locate 3rd party pigmented inks as the colour will stand up much longer with pigmented inks. Brian

What you have all said makes sense to me, thats why I found it strange that they change hands on such a reguarly basis. Certainly could not afford an Edge, A second hand colour camm is all thats within my reach at the moment so I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Thanks for the info robert, its one of these jobs where I need a 72" sq poster to go in a shop window to advertise me business. I think to be honest when I find out the price and tell them they will back off a 100mph.

what is the best way to apply screenprinting ink to banner?

I am looking to change half the background colour of a 120" x 36" P.V.C. Banner I was considering using a roller to apply the screen ink. Question ? is this a practical way of doing it with a roller, spraying is out of the question. Anyone done this before ? Brian :)
