http://www.windowfilm.co.uk/Content/Upload/Image/473_17.jpg Trying to upload a picture of a job we completed. This is colour print backed in white ink which you cannot see though. Yes, cut vinyl cheaper and on such a simple job, probably the best thing to do on this one. Wonder if we will find out ...

You could print onto clear vinyl, apply to inside of window then apply white vinyl to the rear. This would avoid the ghosting around cut lettering. We print white ink on our Mimaki machines, so we would print white rather than a double application. ]] I dont think the white print alternative is a s...

Fair point that if you get bubbles ones way, you will get it the other.

A Misslebrook, what is your method of application?

Yes, you dont have to print, but it seems that A Misslebrook doesnt feel comfortable applying vinyl over the back of cut lettering because they feel they will get bubbles for whatever reason. Yes, it is possible and we know we could do it, but printing is an alternative using the methods suggested. ...

We install A LOT of this film around the country, and if the film is on outside facing windows, it will work well. They will also benefit from reduced heat and glare. Yes, when it starts to get darker outside it will start to reverse, but they should then pull the blinds (hopefully have them). At le...

The architect wanted to have an icon every 100mm. We gave the option of less icons and just on the top band (especially given the time restriction), but in the end they had what they wanted. Metamark Frost was used and applied wet. We used high tack tape. By the time, the last ones were done, we wer...

Frosted Window Film....lots of weeding!

This is a job that we recently completed. The frosted bands are just 100mm high and we had to cut and weed over 500 of the icons from the band and than apply to the glass partitions on site. We got the order confirmation on the Saturday, and had to have it all fitted in one day the following Thursda...

Can anyone help with a match for RAL 5014?

Hi

I have swatch (MACal 9800 pro) that gives some RAL numbers as being a close match to some RAL numbers.

Trouble is, it doesnt show the one I want. On the "blues" it stops at 5012!

Can anyone help with a match for RAL 5014?

Cheers
Micky

if youre not fast, youre last! The thing with number plates and domain names is that if you want them, you do need to buy them when you see them. I have missed out like that before. Very frustrating!

I would try and get a helper for the job and use as wider roll of film as possible (1.524m) to minimise the amount of joins. We usually try to put the joins high up or low down out of the eye line. I would also tr to minimise the amount of overlap. We fit wet and usually have just a 2mm overlap. micky

Yes, we used 3M on this project because it was specified by the architect. I think 3M do well at promoting themselves to specifiers We do not use that much of the Dusted Crystal, but we do use a lot of the Frosted Crystal which means we get very keen prices. We get 1220 wide rolls (46m) for under £6...

The glass partitions that we will apply the material to are usually 1m - 1.2m wide and I don't want to get into joins etc. Also for this type of work, I want to get away from cutting vinyl. For example we have a customer who wants 4mm white dots w...
