Jo - Ann,

Sounds like you convert the text to curves before you cut - they are then no longer fonts and cannot be edited.

May be worth saving one file as master - with text still as editable text, and another file as a cutting file only once text converted to curves.

Dave, the 128MB was for video card - it comes with 1GB of RAM. Guess that should be enough for most things. I know someone who bought a laptop from Aldi about 18 months ago - still working fine except for battery (was always plugged in rather than using the battery so guess didnt help). Think the sp...

Spookysign - I bought my Corel on Amazon - seemed best price and their service is excellent. Check out the upgrade paths on the Corel website - you can upgrade if, for example, you have rival software such as Illustrator etc. Shane, if Alans's suggestion doesn't work, try to import as Postscript Int...

Paul,

No probs - was testing out the live trace on Illustrator CS2 so bit of practice. Didn't take too long but most trouble trying to weld it (or rather the outer ring) - not too hot on that in illustrator.

Think the main difference is that both Corel (in the enhanced view) and Illustrator anti alias their output on screen by having two or more lighter shades of the colour on the same horizontal screen line so it looks better/smoother. Draw a circle in either and look closely at the screen. For corel t...

Fozzie, Amazon is doing the Corel 12 upgrade for £158 including VAT it seems. Would avoid ebay for any software unless you are very careful - most of the stuff is so blatantly pirated that I am surprised that ebay lets them get away with it (actually - perhaps not so surprised). I tried to weed out ...

Dave, you could try a photoshop plugin demo from flaming pear called tesselation - the demo is free for a couple of weeks after download I think and is not too expensive (http://www.flamingpear.com/tesselation.html). This does some of the blending for you (you can blend ends only - which is I guess ...

Phil, I have a small wireless network so not sure if same applies via your hub, but I had a similar problem with non-recognition when tried to set up a new computer. Turned out that my Zone Alarm firewall was blocking it as a threat - and had to change settings on Zone Alarm to allow the new compute...

or you could try Irfanview - http://www.irfanview.com - which is a free viewer and will allow resizing with resampling (i.e. will add pixels) - although it has its limitations depending on original size of file and how much enlargement required.

Rob, Think most of the main computer manufacturers let you change and adapt configuration online to suit. One thing to think of though is service if things go wrong - Mesh Computers, as suggested by Mark, always do well in the computer magazine reviews/awards, but their customer service was poor in ...

Have you got it set up as portrait instead of landscape? From File, go to Page Setup and change orientation. As Peter says, check the Print Preview just to make sure.
