Yes good word and.... I've changed all the parts over, all came to £170....primed the new dampers easily, connected up to the new manifolds....several powerful cleans but still not pulling ink through yet. Decided to soak heads for a few days on new capping stations as heads have been off the machin...

head problems etc

I've ordered new capping heads/dampers/manifolds/wipers etc, should be here tomorrow, so will connect it all up and report back. One question... having taken the dampers off the manifolds...I know that yellow is the rearmost and magenta to the front, am I correct on the other head, the left as you l...

head flush etc

Actually Dave Roger's diagnosis sounds quite a possibility. I was musing yesterday whilst covering myself in ink and stinking out the kitchen (awaiting the wife's wrath!)...that it all relies upon a vacuum from the pump and therefore good seals all round to suck the ink through, and that this might ...

still problems on this one!

Brake fluid made me laugh! Still not pulling through, I'm not too sure what the dampers out to be doing, I pulled ink into the red damper for example but it still wouldn't fire through the head, and curiously still not pulling much through the post pump lines, and consequently not filling the waste ...

flushing heads

I've just taken one of the heads right out, taken the dampers and electrical connectors off and run a healthy blast of compressed air through it up at my workshop where I build cars. Wow, what a stream of fine yellow ink fire out about a metre long, then a similar stream of red ink! I'm going back t...

new dampers

I've had the dampers off today and flushed these through, but still not pulling through. Who supplies spares for these machines now, now that B&P have gone? I could try new dampers first I suppose. If its heads, I shall most likely junk the machine, as I've been quoted £600 plus each which is da...

head cleaning sucking ink through on a cadet...any ideas???

Hi all Been attempting to flush heads through with 2 carts full of flush alternating between heads by swapping the the 2 carts around. Some ink/flush coming through but not through the black head or the pipe from the pump that generally shows black. Do I assume that 1 head is black/cyan and the othe...

Splendid advice, many thanks. Tomorrow will tell. Just had the empty carts from Time2maintain...and they are used ones, previously had ink in! They emailed to tell me this...after I paid them...£25 each, I'd expect brand new ones...the (oh i swore !)! Its the principle that matters, they'll be heari...

head cleaning

Sorry Steve, I'm still being a little dense...if one leaves the heads on the capping station (they are locked on and would need the steel tube device to unwind them) I would not be able to remove the short lengths of plastic tube to clean them easily, though I could rod them through having disconnec...

pulling through with syringe

Sorry being a little daft about this, at what point does one pull through with a syringe.....the only point I can see is where the two lines break before the pump? Now, why syringe it, wont the pump pull it through on a long cleaning cycle anyway, or I suppose the syringe action is faster....perhaps...

Well I read through all the converting back to Eco Sol Max inks. I didn't realise that it was just a case of flushing everything through and then most likely the Roland inks can be used. All that crap from Roland then....all sales pitch crap as expected!! Spoke to Time2maintain...who are obviously a...

Greetings all I'm a bit dumb really, been using my cadet on and off since I bought it in 2004 to print stuff for an airshow I was running. To be honest, its hardly been used, I doubt I've run 10 rolls of vinyl/banner through it since 2004! I'm using bio inks, but haven't used it now about 2.5 months...

Re: UniForm Printers

What about the business of some solvent or semi solvent inks having been formulated to MASK the toxic fumes ie - sometimes the inks WITHOUT a smell can be the worst ?

That's where the canaries come in handy of course!

Well that's excellent advice. Why didn't your sales people suggest such anyway rather than try to sell an expensive product...can't recall what is was or did? I'd still like to know the toxicity of all inks mind you, since contrary perhaps to opinion, few of us are canaries, and few canaries would h...

These comments are fine and the HSE directive excellent, however, when I had a tour around the B&P facility, it was far from odourless, quite the contrary...apparently "people get used to it"...as I'm sure they do..to their detriment perhaps! When I first had my machine installed, I wo...

Did Roland themselves say that using their Maxsol inks would not require any conversion, because when I spoke with them they maintained a cost of up to £3K..which seems extortionate, however, I know the head prices etc. It would be fascinating just to replace inks directly though!

Hi Chris, was that a person using a cadet or a versacamm? Trouble was 2 years ago, I and many others so it appears had a demo with Roland, realise that their inks rapidly went walkabouts...then had a demo with B&P, bought a machine from them. Meanwhile Roland have developed their Ecosol Max inks...

I know that this is a hoary old clichéd subject...but! Roland's Eco Sol Max inks vs B&P's Activasol ink (the smelly one!). I was looking at a sample of banner material the other day that Allprint Supplies had sent me. It is UMS 15 530gsm matt fire rated banner and states that is is printed on a ...

versacamm/cadet debate

Yes I know the test you did, I did similarly. The picture of the Les Paul guitar on banner material, I think, wiped off with virtually one stroke using a rag soaked in white spirit, I then tried meths, petrol and diesel, then took all pieces to B&P and tried the meths test at their place straigh...

versacamm vs cadet revisited

I then related the maintenance procedure. The Hexis...

can anyone tell me why my cadet is not printing please?

Greetings all! I went to use my cadet yesterday for the first time in six weeks and no ink printing whatsoever! Did all of the usual head cleans etc but still no action. I know that there is the complicated head soak business, but surely the machine shouldn't behave like this. I don't recall reading...

The ink issue is a very serious one with me. I did tests with the Roland inks, they immediately wipe off with petrol/meths/white spirit etc and if you rub the images with a thumb not too hard the ink moves. Even after a couple of hours and even weeks the same thing happens. I had my first demo with ...

Greetings all. I took delivery of a Cadet today, and printed my first "pinup" girl stickers! Looks like I'm about to have a lot of fun and hopefully make some decent dosh with the beast. I've got an interesting job shortly, I'm hiring in 4 Spitfires for the airshow I'm organising in August...

Newbie about to buy a Versa Camm

Greetings all I'm a new member for my sins! I had a demo again at Roland Slough yesterday on the Versa Camm. Annoyingly I had not lloked at the forum before, as it had not occurred to me. I was particularly interested in the longevity/U/V aspects but without being to paranoid of course. I run a conv...
