I’ve used both machines on this material! I’ve never had an exact profile for this material, used an Arlon profile on latex to print any vinyl and then a metamark profile on the epson, both just profiles I easily found through the library’s.

Depending on how far you need to send it, you could always use a same day courier, who will collect from you and take it straight to your customer. They are expensive, but if it’s not a crazy distance away it can work out well. Saves on so much packaging too!

Is that the original javelin that has no base to it, so you cut into your bench? We had this before and I didn’t really rate the accuracy, but the evo 2 is completely different! A lot easier to line up and also has adjustments all the way along to easily ensure accuracy is spot on!

We find dry wipe laminates from most suppliers to be really expensive, however take a look at Dorotape - they do a laminate called dry wipe film, 1300 wide, 100m for £247 +vat, which is an incredible price compared to most! Never had any complaints

I’ve found that part of the rip where you can change the settings, my queries were more regarding the artwork! Do you just add 2 sets of your white print? Are they in separate layers?

Neil may know better than may, but as far as I’m aware you just have to keep the white agitated, don’t think it causes any more hassle than that!

I used to have the exact same issue with the cyan! Was some time ago now, I can’t remember if we did a firmware update or not now. Other than firmware, I know we never actually did anything else to combat the problem, it just eventually went away!

On something that size I personally wouldn’t risk VHB rails. I’m not saying it won’t work because I’ve never tried it, but I just wouldn’t risk it on something that size! Mounting by hand is the way to do it I’m afraid, or buy with print already applied from your supplier!

Although a standard laminate will work, it doesn’t clean anywhere near as easy. It’s not long before it’s covered in stains! I know the actual dry wipe laminate is quite expensive, cheapest I’ve found is by dorotape

Speak to your suppliers about which laminates they have available! It’s not something that is specific to your laminator! Although I’ve not tried the steamer myself, we had an artic trailer which had a full wrap in just polymeric vinyl with no laminate. I thought this would be an absolute nightmare and got the cleaning company next door onto it! They used steamers and removed it all so quickly.

Would definitely suggest a separate cutter!

Does your printer have a take up system? Allowing you to leave the printer going overnight/run it from home? If not the latex 260 will have and should be a great printer for what you are doing!

For the amount of vinyl you are cutting I think it definitely warrants the summa with the take up! We bought for exactly the same reason and we wouldn’t look back! When I was shown the basics on onyx, it didn’t seem to streamlined for me... I would have to alter the cutter from cut to usb to cut to file, then these files will have to be loaded into summa cut server, does this sound correct?

One option, although it’s not a flat bed, is the the summa s2 with a take up roll. We have this alongside the d160. The accuracy is much better on the s2. Few easy things to check, may not be the cause but worth checking anyway...
1. Do a clean
2. Do a nozzle test print/check state of print heads
3. Check your media profile is correct, try installing a different self adhesive profile

Perfect colours actually advised me to switch it off! I've never had any issues with it being switched off. I've done the odd extra clean here and there, but it seems to run perfectly! I would say you would of spent more on cleaning kits than print heads if you left it on!

I did have mine switched on and noticed I started to fly through printhead cleaning kits! I've since turned it off and not noticed any difference whatsoever other than the cleaning kit last twice as long!

We use a couple or materials which I consider to be a high tack. Spandex do an image perfect super grip, seriously has some grab to it, as you would expect. Yes certainly much lighter than the main bar. I would think you should get away without them to be honest, I think they are just handier on the smaller widths but you should be fine!

I tend to use the plastic one when printing onto smaller rolls like roll up display media at 915mm, anything 1220 upwards I always use the main bar!

We've had this issue to with monomeric materials. I just use LG polymeric for everything now which solves the problem. I do intend to look at a cheaper material again sometime and play around with heat settings but haven't had time as of yet!

I'm not familiar with sign lab, but I know I had this issue once and found it to be through gerber software, we had a tick box marked to allow the software to override the machine settings! Check that this isn't happening to you and run purely from machine settings!

We are looking to produce a review board for a factory where they will want to change printed a4 documents on there themselves daily. Can anybody recommend or know of any kind of clear pockets that can be used?

My other option is snap frames but trying to avoid if possible.

Although not exactly the same, we had similar problems with cartridges reading non genuine ink on our old jester. Try speaking to your ink supplier for a new card to attach to the cartridge. May not solve the problem but certainly worth a shot!

Depends on height off the ground with these signs! However I have had a 10 x 5 portrait sign quoted from ashby, which they always wind load before quoting I believe? You may just need to speak to somebody a little more in the know there! Try asking for tim, always extremely helpfull!

We cold laminate, but in warm office conditions!

First time I have used this 5 year clear as a over laminate, I didn't think the tac was that great on this, neither the matching 5 year poly white vinyl, in standard adhesive & particularly bubble free adhesive!

We have a very fine indentation on ours, it does leave visible marks. They do push out but tend to leave a couple of miniature bubbles.

New rollers will be around £600 each, top roller is quite easy to change!
