I use Winplot/cut sometimes but within Corel Draw and I've not noticed any issues but I think winplot basically automates an export to eps/AI which it imports for cutting. Try exporting as eps or ai (use a fairly early version of ai) and manually importing to see if that changes anything, if it does...

Yes do say what brand. Hexis stuff is good but I thought a bit expensive. I've just had some material in from Victory (sample) which has the distinctive air release adhesive pattern and that also seems fine once applied to a window and is cheaper but has to be ordered in.

The Hexis stuff I used was nothing like that. You could not tell the difference between air release and conventional material once applied, it did have a high initial grab though. I was putting on some pieces 1800mm X 570mm without a hint of a bubble I'm not sure I could say the same with ordinary m...

Or use air release file and fit the etch dry. Used it the other day and although more expensive saves on application fluid and wiping the windows down afterwards.

I've just been using the Hexis version and was very impressed. Not particularly cheap compared to conventional film but far easier and quicker to use.

I don't have a printer so this issue does not directly affect me but if it did I would feel a bit aggreived that the ink I had bought was not available for me to use. From what I understand waste oil burners need to be registered and licenced, needless to say this involves a fee to the council. I suspect burners may be the same and the cost of the licences may make them less attractive quite apart from initial cost and maintenance.

If I were looking for a second hand machine I would speak to some of the dealers and see what they had in as trade ins. They might be a little more expensive than on the open market but at least you would have a bit of a safety net in terms of their condition and probably some form of warranty. What...

Depends what is original paint, I used to work for a Ford main agent and a fair proportion of their bodyshop work was transporter damage so just because the customer has not had paintwork done doesn't maean that all of the paint was applied at the factory.

I've never had any issues with multiple instances and I used it with before V5. (V5 didn't really have the feature but if you tapped the enter button from a desktop icon you could get it to run deveral times) SL does do it as a instance of the programme rather than Corel Draw's method of opening a s...

What programme are you importing into? This is possibly a colour management issue. If the pdf is in rgb and your colour management is displaying cmyk there is likely to be a colour shift.

If you are using Corel use the 'smart fill' tool, this will colour the shape whether the nodes are joined or not. I'm not explaining this very well just try it and you will see what I mean.

I never lay up on the bench anyway. I would fix the black and then the letters on the job and the letters I would put on in 2s or 3s so any miss registration can be taken up on application.

With the newer versions I just ungroup, select the outer edge and change colour then regroup. While I'm at it I thicken the outline and it then prints better. I also use Signlab but same method in Corel.

I gave a Graphtec FC3100-60 (10 years+ old) and a Summa T750pro 7 years+ old) Both work daily, have been no trouble, cut accurately down to 5mm lettering and were easy to set up with SignLab. If your Chinese cutter can do this, stick with it, if not upgrade.

John, I'm envious. A colleague of mine bought a BN20 and he does my small label work and anything else that will fit on his machine. The quality is outstanding and he is delighted with it. I bet after a year you start looking even closer at a larger version and how you can fit it in your workshop :)...
