Yeah thats right - because you haven't accounted for the non-perfect clear laminate

When I used to profile you needed it to be spot on and do it with the final laminate on top and call it Vinyl+Lam

If this was an AXYZ, i would check all bed sensors, on the AXYZ is a plastic cap and this sometimes comes in contact and breaks causing the sensor to stay on, this on startup of the AXYZ causes the head to plunge into the bed!

I had the same machine once.... head strike is correct... one thing tho.. keep an eye on Thick and Thin settings, have u moved them recently? It's a bit Micky-mouse that control. we used to have a small 1K file which just had a block of ink in it. As the printer was using a print queue, we scheduled the print driver to print this file at certain times during the night, so it kept it moving. Bit of a hack really

on a single core machine, not responding doesn't really appear just a white screen... on multicore machine not responding appears as the program is busy... near the end of creating a PDF it is messing around with Temp and actually building the file. there is a way of adjusting the margins in the hidden menu but I am not really a Mimaki man now, got rid of it and memory is faint. I do know it is a fiddly process

I cant remember the version numbers but my CNC is on one of the later firmwares, this allows a program that will send NC files to the CNC.

So then you can use VCarve etc.

Ink is another factor, mimaki original ink is fairly quick drying and if you got heaters 40deg + then you will reduce your drying time. Jason has both printers and can comment but the durability on banner is something to be closely monitored. I dont use it for banner only vinyl and that is fine both unlaminated and laminated. The curing time is right but we just laminate straight away... basically the printer 'cures' the ink at high...

we get re-seat cartridge sometimes on Magenta... have found that taking the cart out and putting in another (used/empty?) will re-read it and then put the new one back in.. sometimes takes a number of tries.

ok.. i got our Xerox contract copier from Xeretec http://www.xeretec.co.uk

it says "remember to 'bypass' Photoshop colour management"... it means don't use TWO sets of colour management... the one from your RIP and the one from the Photoshop output

Edit: nope.. i just re-read it... but you should be letting the RIP do the work not Photoshop!

change over's might actually be a good thing in the long run. it's starting to make sense then having exclusive heads for the white as the requirement of using them is little, so overall you are saving as white head daily maintenance is costly if they are under used.

most usb keyboard and mice devices will be recognized by the mac os

wireless has two problems...
small mouse lag as the mouse comes out of sleep mode.
batteries need to be replaced when you dont need it to be

We just downgraded from huge skips to wheelie bin viridor... however the backing of paper was argued and eventually they took it with paper, the silicon isn't that bad on the Avery but it is something that vinyl companies need to explain to us better, what we can do with the waste?!

lets put it this way.... your mouse is usb.. your speakers are usb.... so why doesn't your mouse play music and your speakers move the arrow?

for the corners we use wooden frames and screw into the frames, we then cover the screw heads with circle from white vinyl

also if u cut too deep you can make it split also by cuting out all the recycled core

well im surprised you not installed bootcamp on your mac... parallels allows u to do the same but allows it to work within the mac. if Ctrl Alt Del doesn't come up then something is up... heating is normally the main problem but you say no. Mine cooks at 80deg sometimes, it is getting knackered. Do you get Blue screen's of death? but i will say this, we order forex print in for printing on our UV, we enter sheet thickness and if the material doesn't keep flat then the image will blur as it is printed. I have to say I never noticed fluctuations in thickness

I have the FC7000 but I have to admit the firmware on the machine is not very good, for such an expensive machine it does do some strange things from time to time, what you expect a Chinese machine to do.

However, we do like it but the newer model was a bit of a re-design so I believe.

i contour cut on the graphtech fc7000, i am currently replacing a foot for hold down as it wonders. printing on latex can distort the media and laminating can add further shrinkage so optical systems can be important. well i understand what you are saying, if I said a cutting plotter would also struggle too, as it goes around it will sometimes go out a mm, however if you got many registration points then the cutter will correct it's path, its not perfect but for 2.2mtr should be ok as long as the roller grip is g...

i have printed it on a JV3-160S but I had to rip out the metal and made my own platern at the time lol. i was also on third party ink and running the heaters at max. the UV we have works, I just have to use the cure power at max too to prevent scratching. Have also used vinyl ontop of mag before also.

nothing wrong with the printer... just bleeding ink...

normally caused by low-heat or misalignment but as u got a RS u have 1 head with all colours in line all the time, so i cant say it is that.
