I have had a marketing manager from a multi national on the phone looking for a stack of graphics, supply only but I need, if poss. pantone coloured vinyl, where if anywhere can I get some. I will try the "it costs five times more" approach if I cant get any.

Hi Stuart
A company called fineline converting does flood coating that?s what you need.
I use them for a big company we do work for also.
Like you said though Stuart its not cheap mate. Have to point out though I have had companies compete with us on price alone. They get the same job done but the vinyl
Fades within months & it looks terrible the company now has to ask us to re-do the vehicles/signs & have told us they won't make that mistake again. Something to think about when the cost thing is an issue. It may loss you the job in the long run to save a few quid. Mind you if that?s what they want you just incorporate the cost in the job, if its a certain colour then every sign company will have to go to same expense in matching it.
If I can help anymore let me know.

While i am here did you get the e-mail about our screen-printing members Stuart?

We have this problem every day of the week having to create corporate colours in vinyl can you tell me what the pantone ref you need is i have a vast experience of this problem if there is afix ill know about it!!
For indoor use you can paint matt vinyls in dulux colour palette colours 2-3 thin coats with a foam glosssing roller it cuts and carries perfectly providing the paint finish is absolutely dry there is usually a near match in paint.
Exterior is another matter as Robert says it is a screen print job or there may be a match. Pantone refs vary , there is a big difference between pms C and U colours
this is coated and uncoated paper if anyone is quoted a Pantone reference and is not familiar with the system you can e mail me i can give you some help ie i can give you a dulux paint reference for the colour palette system its a start!!

Thanks guys, the colour reference given to me was just "186". I have been back in touch and have him just about persuaded that the closest Oracal will be just fine!! Cost issues are our friend also. Robert I didn't get the mail about the members who can provide a screen printing service, could you resend please, thanks for your help everyone.
