Can someone recommend a good mirror effect vinyl?

Reading back through the forum found a couple of topics on Mirror, but no one came up with a good answer over printing onto this with PC60.

Can someone recommend a good one to use?

Not a viable option to cut and then apply lettering due to size required.

Thanks

What is the problem with printing via the PC60 on this - we have done so succesfully on many brands ?

I used some mirror vinyl from Oracal, printed no problem on the PC60. I have made 5" BMW badges on it using spot colours, and vauxhall badges, things like that. Its not great for weeding as it tends to tear easily, but printwise its okay.

Thanks both.

When I spoke to Europoint this morn they said it couldn't be printed on, goes to show how wrong they can be!

Any idea how well it holds up to temperature - this is to go on the inner wing under the bonett of the Tiv, and believe me it gets hot under there

Closest I've been to the engine compartment was I applied to a bonnet, but I think they're insulated :-?

When you spoke to Europoint were you asking about the foil version or the polymeric? I had the foil version, very thin, and almost brittle when weeded. Even if they were refering to the polymeric one, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to print on to it.

I know this may be a bit rude to ask, but is this for one of those stickers that give all the technical data and stuff?

Yes that's the one, a lot of E numbers and vehicle specs.

Mine's been caught and scratched by the bonnet support over the years. I just want to make her look tidy again. :P

Mrs D has a data sticker thingy under the bonnet of the Starion, it looks to be laminated. Could you print onto the foil type chrome, then laminate with clear vinyl? That may compensate a little for the high temperatures.

Print wise, I've not tried reds on chrome, but I should imagine if black, white and blue will print without any problems, then all the spot colours should print okay.

Below is a chrome Vauxhall sticker I have stuck to some foamboard in the shop... I made a few of them 6 months ago, one of which was applied to the bonnet of a car with some other stickers.
