Funny enough I've never done a tannng shop - we have a few, no - let me re-phrase that...we had a few round here but you don't seem to see them now. Perhaps it's because you're up there near the Arctic Circle...six months of night and all that...everyones just trying to generate a little sunlight of their own!

best regards

haha cant beleave what your saying mate.
we have them here also. loads of the things
we have done maybe 2 this year alone and we are still in january.
i mean seriously what are they saying to there self..."hey i know what would be a good idea! another sunbed place over there next to that one."
the best of it is when they go bust they always seem to say "it was a good idea. cant see what we did wrong"

I did a tanning salon some time ago and I am still waiting to get paid. I have put a debt collection agency on the case - so far I have received two small cheques in part payment but nowhere near the full amount. I read a newspaper article recently which suggested that some of these establishments are used as a front to launder drugs money. I can well believe it :x

Me too Phill - funnily enough one sunbed shop guy whod owed me for months - came in today and told me he'd "lost all his receipts" for work I'd carried out a year ago - he then asked if I could "bodge him up a letterhead for a building company" for this insurance claim for water damage to his shop! Needless to say I showed him the door. Some of these businesses are pukka but a lot are not - get your money up front if poss.

Sure do gray - I mean today here in sunny Manchester we've had a bloody great thunderstorm it was freezing cold this morning - and now the sun's shining. Trouble with sunbed shops is they're usually run by get rich quick types who end up selling videos - groceries - doing nails - then going bust - or torching the place.

I would want to be very sure there are no long term adverse effects on the skin, generally you can't beat what comes naturally (sun I mean) :o

Are you saying you can't beat the sun for messing your skin up Gray? :o

Doesn't Australia have the highest count of skin cancer per head in the world? or is that false? I went for 6 weeks & came back as white as when i left

Good point, I should have explained in more detail.
We need the sun for vitamin D and all the other benefits we get from the suns' rays, but too much of it damages the skin - sunburn.

It's a case of good things in moderation but from a natural source.
I used to take a lot of artificial vitamins but of recent times I've been convinced that the best vitamins come from natural produce, fruits and vegetables. I now believe that pills (while maybe helpful in some ways) tend to diminish the full value of foods in their whole and natural source.

I just wonder (I don't know) if sun-tanning in an artificial way may be also less than the best.

What's this got to do with signs!??

Sorry Brian, you got me going on a favourite topic of mine - natural health. One tends to look at this issue when a chap is looking at 50 (13th June if you want to send a birthday card or money)

Shoulda said earlier Gray, don't think a bundle of cash would get there in time now. Wouldn't be the same if it arrived late would it? Maybe next year :)
