Whistler Brushes, need some more please help?

Hi all i recently brought a used sign writers box with some brushes off ebay and in amongst them were 2 whistler lettering chisels in quills, and i find them amazing compared to my usual 2112's but i cant seem to find any info on them or if its possible to still buy them any help please as they make my 2112's seem like toy brushes

Hi James,

Kemp's are the company you need.

Hi James,

Try Wright's of Lymm (now redirects to Stonehouses).

You could try AS Handover too, it seems 'Whistler' made graining brushes and stipplers and may have a connection to Hamiltons! But that said, lettering quills from Wrights of Lymm are very good brushes.

Re: Whistler Brushes, need some more please help?

well i think they must no longer exist as i really cant find anything on them. I use A.S.Handover and Wrights of lymm as my main suppliers and have just received an order this morning with a couple of Mack quills, so looking forward to trying those out. When i started learning this craft the vast majority of people was using or recommending the Handover 2112,s so i went with these and yes got on alright with them and just got by. but as soon as i tried these whistler quills i was just amazed at how they held the chiselled shape and the snappiness of the hair. everything just seemed to fall into place using them and seemed to make the job easier, but i suppose its each to there own and what works for you.

James. You could try these folk. I don't see Whistler on their website, but they have it on their price list so may be worthwhile speaking to them.
Stuart R. Stevenson price list.
