Panel Joints, what preference?

As far as I can see there are two types of self made panel joints for keeping panels in line inside a frame.
A) uses more material but keeps everything inline across the whole sign.
b) uses less material, but does it keep the panels in line as well ?
What are peoples preferences?
cheers

Re: Panel Joints, what preference?

I use method B same as Phill, never tried method A but from what I can see it not only uses more material but takes longer to put together so there is a time element as well as a material cost to consider
Like Phill I have never had a problem with method B

Re: Panel Joints, what preference?

Thanks for the input, Used A join in the end which gave a nice fit all across the panels.
Used Foamalux Ultra for the panels, Thanks Phil Fenton for that pointer from last year.
Saved me flood coating foam boards and gave a nice gloss finish.

Re: Panel Joints, what preference?

For trays I tend to lean to option 'A' however I have been using some plastic extrusion recently for flat panel joins. Buy it in 3mtr lengths coloured white then wrap to colour or continue print. Its available it different widths heights and returns so can be used with different thickness materials. I find it not only holds the panels but almost locks them in place.
