Exhibition Panels Gas Off

As some know I am currently making a gassing off cubicle but its not ready yet....

I have 20 panels to deliver to an exhibition on tomorrow, they have been printed over night last night and rolled out on the bench with fans for the last two hours. 8 of the panels are block colour dark blue. The Exhibition is for two weeks and relocating to 4 venues over that period. The graphics will be in a skip in 14 days.

The client only released the artwork last night and so there is not enough time to correctly do the job.

My question do I;

a - laminate and mount to the pvc and hope they last the two weeks
b- mount to boards un-laminated and risk damage moving from venue to venue

Thanks

Re: Exhibition Panels Gas Off

Personally I will not worry about. Personally!
Out gassing is important mainly for vehicle wraps. 14 days job on a flat panel will be fine in my opinion.
Laminate, yes.
I never send non-laminated stuff out of my shop, even if it is for an hour event.
Ask them to sign a waiver if they released artwork late.

Re: Exhibition Panels Gas Off

Stick the laminate on, it will help application if nothing else.

If possible try and wrap around the edges of the boards, so should it shrink it isn't obvious.

If you're mounting them up then cut them, you may find it curls at the edges.

They supplied the A/W late, which IMHO isn't your problem, and they have two choices, accept the risk or have no panels.

Re: Exhibition Panels Gas Off

Thanks for your advice, I did in the end complete as normal and have avoided the potential “shame” by explaining again to the client the requirement for artwork to be present in a timely fashion! The job was for a certain company offering prime services and I did mention a requirement for a prime membership to get graphics next day!!! (The client did not laugh). Cheers
