Gerber Omega and Summa pounce settings

Hi all,
Does anybody have any info on how to use the 'Pounce' facility on my Summa D140-R, though my Gerber Omega (5.0) software?
I know how to set the plotter to Pounce but when I set to 'pounce in Omega plot settings' (Setup/Device select/settings
tick pounce box) the plotter just asks to 'Insert Drag Knife'!
Spandex haven't been a lot of help, Has anybody else encountered this problem, or know a way around it?

Hope someone can help

Cheers
Mike

Re: Gerber Omega and Summa pounce settings

Hi Mike, what are you pouncing for?? I've never used that setting from omega in 20 plus years of using it!!

If the plotter is asking for a different cutter and you have one, change it over and press enter, should fire up after that, it does that when i pen plot something and have to put a penn into the blade holder

Re: Gerber Omega and Summa pounce settings

Thanks Fred, Am pouncing because I do traditional signwriting as well and needed a accurate template
for a very precise job. I normally just chalk the back of a paper drawing and trace through.
Was told the summa had this pounce setting and i would have saved me time, not needing to trace.
I will keep trying with the settings!
Thanks for your reply Fred.

We pounce with a Summa plotter from Omega 5. There is a setting that you have to know about. I’ll have a look tomorrow (Canada time) and post some screen shots. It works great.

Re: Gerber Omega and Summa pounce settings

Hi there,
Here's a quick and dirty tutorial. I don't have time to do a video today.
This assumes that you have the plotter set up with the pounce function according to the instructions that came with the pounce tool.
Gerber Omega recognizes 3 tools, knife, pen and pounce tool.
The software default to Tool 1 which is the knife. You must change it to tool 2 which is the pounce tool.
I hope this .jpg isn't out of wack size wise.
Give is a try and let me know if this helps. I will do a better job tonight if you're still having issues.
Cheers,
Duncan
