Advice on temp coach wrap please!

We will be wrapping 53 seat coach at the end of February, it only needs to stay on fur 10 days then it will be stripped by us. Will need to be printed vinyl and will include perf to cover all windows, any recommendations on vinyl for this?

No pint going super high quality, needs to be fast to put on and easy to come off, surely there’s no point laminating?

Any nuggets of advice greatfully appreciated!

Re: Advice on temp coach wrap please!

As far as I'm aware there isn't a short term wrap vinyl.

On you tube there is a comparison video between 5 or 6 manufacturers wrapping vinyl, all the same fitters, all on the same car. Avery came in almost a day quicker than the slowest vinyl.

What I'm trying to say is, there's a price difference between some of the material, but they can be slower to fit, which can bring them out to be the dearest when labour costs are added up.

If it's a coach, it will be relatively flat, MD5A, or even their MDi.

A shame Shane doesn't visit the site regularly he does lots of coach wraps in Oz.

Yeah it is nearly all flat so doesn’t need to be a wrap film as such, what do you think on the laminating, I’ve quoted it without and the customer has been told, do you think it will be ok for the 10 days?

Re: Advice on temp coach wrap please!

for 10 days i would skip the laminate.
the only real benefit it will give you is easier handling of the media being a double layer.
also, big buses tend to be in big cold warehouses, so watch the budget media used does react bad with the cold and shatter while being applied. dont get me wrong, even premium films can do this too.

even a flat bus can be time consuming due to grills, joins, trimming etc so watch you dont under evaluate the time required. You also have to clean it and there are lots of little areas, rivets and so on that all need cleaned too prior to the install. the fact its only ten days leans thing in your favour though, but regardless. You still have to approach the job in the same way if it was a long term wrap, just the media your using will be less expensive.

Laminated vinyl will be easy to remove. Single layer is more likely to crack in smaller pieces.
I always laminate.
I will be tempted to use Arlon SLX on this project just because of the fact that you are going to unwrap after 10 days.
You might say this is is expensive vinyl - but you need to calculate how many hours will take to unwrap the bus.
Arlon SLX will come off fastest in my opinion.
I will not be to worried about the perforated vinyl - usually comes off easy. (Metamark & laminated)

I did a 40' lorry trailer last spring, flat sides only, for a 2 week roadshow. Used LG bubble free, laminated.
I didn't pull it off at the end of the roadshow but the customer did, he said it peeled off like a dream and wants me to use the same vinyl again this year.
