Large round sign advice needed

Hi All

Just been to quote for a major company, who require a large sign, their logo is round. The required size is 4m in dia.

Using diabond could turn into a nighmare as there would be several joins, all of which could move over time.

I am sure I have seen a system where there is an alloy framework behind and the panels screw to that or clip into it, has anyone got any suggestions for this or other ways to make it a better sign.

cheers

You could make a channel that each panel slots into, similar to how joins in trays are sometimes done. The issue being if it was going onto a flat surface, you would end up with a 6mm gap at the joins.

Could a flex face system work?

Thanks David, flexiface is an option, they have asked for diabond though, but that might have been put in their head by another signmaker.

I`m sure there is another system... I`ll keep looking

Re: Large round sign advice needed

I would definitely try going the flexface sign route.
Lots of flexface systems on the go, but the one i prefer and have used a lot over the years is the signcomp tensioning system which is sold by various suppliers in the UK.

Amongst others, Nova Sign Systems do it and will come completely pre-manufactured ready for installation.

I just did an illuminated one about 30ft by 6ft. It is up and in place quick considering the size.

Alternatively, if you wanted one fabricated in a sheet material, ide suggest calling Vince at 3D Sign. http://www.3d-signs.co.uk
