Hi Brian, we're running 4x Dell xps systems. 2 have i5 processers, the other 2 i7 processors, 16gb ram, 256gb ssd's for operating system and 2tb hdd's for storage. They run 99% of files no problem apart from the odd very complex vector which takes a while to process

Builder you own!

Buy a barebones system & add to build you ideal machine (try Novatech for barebone deals)

We have a few custom PC's generally mainly around this spec:

i7 4.2ghz processor
20gb RAM
500mg primary SSD drive
1 TB hybrid scratch disk (all saved files onto server, not local system)
Quadro K2200 graphics cards or similar

Re: What PC Computer are you using for sign work?

Really depends what sort of work you are doing Brian, if your just cutting vinyl then you don't need anything fancy or fast, in fact an old pentium 4 machine running xp would probably be fast enough for anything you were likely to do. If on the other hand you are working with digital print files then that's a different story altogether & something more like the systems that have been mentioned are needed

Point is if your just wanting a new system you don't necessarily have to spend big to get what you need for the job
