Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

Quoted on printing and installing some digitally printed vinyl to an internal painted breeze block wall.

Original spec was the Aumigraphic from Soyang to match the previous graphics, a good material but really expensive for this one off job.

I've some Mactac WW300 in stock, but I'm not sure it'll conform very well to the texture of the breeze block.

Other materials I have in stock are MDX & 3M IJ180 not sure if they'll be that suitable.

Open to suggestions for alternatives.

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

Hello,

Arlon DPF8000 is my favorite for this type of job, in case of permanent signage. Very sticky and conformable.
I've never used the ones that you mention.

Cheers.

Looks like the stuff, but I've had a price on a roll, to print a 2m length

Arlington DPF all the way David. We use it all the time for wall wraps etc. Wall will fall down before the vinyl comes off

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

You have any in stock?

It's only a small(ish) job we're doing, so not worth us buying a full roll, happy to sub it out.

I'll have a look when I'm back in the office tomorrow. We normally buy in for each job but I'm sure we will have some. How big is the job

1 @ 1656x2106 (although it's contour cut so again can be tiled)

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

Hi David, sorry for the delay. Sadly we have nothing in stock of the Arlon, and I've also contacted a couple of local print shops I use but nothing there either. Sorry mate.
Usually we always carry a bit in stock. Hopefully someone out there will come to your rescue

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

No Problem. Thank's for looking

William Smiths have contacted me today, they do offer it in 10m kits. As it's for a high profile client we'll go with that, as I don't want any comebacks on us.

Once this jobs done I'll likely still have 5m kicking around if ever you need any

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

You won't have any problems with the arlon stuff, I love it.
Word of warning though, the adhesive is mega aggressive, so if you are tiling anything, lay it out flat first with the next panel overlapped, and mark the join with masking tape.
Porous substrate isn't so bad, but flat painted surfaces, it will stick like (oh i swore !) to a blanket preparation is key

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

TaDa!

Installation done this morning, took 80mins from signing in, to signing out.

Chevrons in 2 pieces, and the large graphic is in 3, the larger part is spit in two, and the line running up a separate part.

Really impressed with the DPF8000

I don't know who that guy is... :yikes:

Looks great David, well done.
Glad you got on well with the Arlon, it's a great addition to your stock items. Also gives you confidence the more you use it. Nice work

Re: Digital Vinyl for Breeze Block Wall

Thanks for the Advice Iain. Hopefully we can get some more on the go, was really easy to work, even the tiling went to plan.

Would happily do a few of these a week.
