Hugh Potter - various work

Been a long while since I shared any work on here, I think since last time we've moved to a new unit (2yr ago!) and recently purchased a HP L26500 latex printer!
Things have move on a lot!

Mostly just general signage and some pics of the new van livery - all printed on orafol 5600 reflective material.. I've tried to pic the slightly more interesting stuff!!

Some great work there Hugh, loving your Dragon Signs van & the mini!

Out of interest how are you getting on with the HP? What printer were you running before?

Hi James,
Thanks!

I only had an HP Z2100 previous to this, worked fine when laminated for mag signs, short tems exterior and general builders boards etc.

The L26500 is awesome, I've not played about with any profiles or anything yet - seems to print best on the standard HP Gloss profile for everything I've put through it so far!

Some great work Hugh, really like how you have combined Reflective and Print together on the black van. Really stands out well in the evening.

Re: Hugh Potter - various work

Thanks guys, the van always pulls in positive comments!!

Coming back from Radstock last night a chap pulled in behind me as i returned to the van at the services, as first I thought he was telling me off for being in a fast lane (going with the flow!) but he said it looked great disappearing into the distance!!

Nice work Hugh. What media are you finding work best for you on the latex?

for general signage I'm finding the avery MPi 2800 range working best, the heat causes some cheaper films to distort slightly, no problem on normal prints but on contour cutting of smaller decal batches..

Good to know thanks, I like the avery sign vinyls so I'll give the digital a go too. Do you do much banner? either pull ups or PVC? I gather pull ups can be prone to curling at the edges. Did you ever try the double sided printing with it?

Re: Hugh Potter - various work

I've not tried printing roll-ups as yet, still so cheap to sub out!

banner i use the 550g image perfect from spandex, I've tried the cheap gloss 440g but it doesn't print so well on solid dark colours, ok for cheap stuff I guess!

Re: Hugh Potter - various work

It's something I have a lot to learn about now & I find it frustrating that suppliers won't send out samples of various media big enough to test print on & get a feel for as there are so many different brands & types available, & you don't really want to spend a couple of hundred on a 50m roll of something you find after a few meters of that isn't ideal!!
