Hello

:D

Actually joined a while ago but just got the gold membership last week, we principally use our plotter and Signlab (currently using 4.95 awaiting 7 to arrive) to make resists for sandblasting designs on to glass panels.
Found some of the stuff on the site quite an eye opener, we do the vinyl logo's etc. on our own vans, now I know how to do it right!

Keep up the good work,

Andy (SqueakyWD40)

Hi Andy :D I wont say welcome to the boards seeing as you've already been around a bit & posted but I will say great to see you posting and look forward to seeing some of your own work ... Sorry to sound a bit dimb here but do you just make the resits for sandblasting or do you actually make the resists & do the sandblasting?? :D

Your picture looks as though you are in a space rocket ... you know like when you see the astronauts doing an interview from space .... Ok so perhaps its just me :D Anyway ........ hellloooooo

Hi and welcome Andy :D

Bizarre question for a first one, but what type of plotter do you use to cut the sandblasting film? Do you find the blades wear out quickly or is there a specific type of blade used?

Carrie, I think its just the Russians that have padded cloth chairs up there in space  Padded with straw, just like the Lada :P

Cheers, Dewi

 Thanks Carrie, I think.. (I know what you mean looking at the picture!).. just call me Major Tom!

We do all our own sandblasting, at present we can do panels upto 3200 x 2200mm in our workshop (though we don't like doing them that big!).
We use Fascal 800PF vinyl for our resists with a Plotter Technology Profile Cutter.
We also do some work by hand, handcutting the design on to 3M 202 masking tape.

I will try to get some pics a.s.a.p.

Andy
