Tablet pc's, opinions...

Hey guys 7 girls,
I did ask similar sometime back -regarding iPads but, cannot find the thread,

It's Lucy's Birthday this week and I'm looking to get her a tablet PC, she is an NVQ assessor, trainer etc so it will be used for business meetings, memo's, online resourcing etc.

I've narrowed it down to three,

HTC flyer 32gb 3G (smaller screen @ 7" but otherwise seems very businessy)

Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P7300 16GB 3G - 8.9" screen.

Sony S tablet SGPT114GB 16GB 3G expandable, 10" screen,

As she does a lot of observations I'm thinking the smaller HTC is the one, easy to hold or keep in handbag, very fast 1.5 processor etc. it seems to be advertised with many 'business / boardroom' features, where as the other two seem to be more aimed at social stuff.

anyone own the above and have genuine feedback? I've discounted iPad based on price, Xoom seems to not have 3G, there are others but this is my short list at around the £200-250 mark, I need to move quick so would appreciate quick advice!!

cheers,
Hugh

Hi Martin,
Other than the camera it looked really good, only downside is that the 3g version is not available yet!

have to have 3G as mrs is always out and about in her trainee's / clients premises,

thanks though, looked a good option!

is tethering not an option Hugh?

I've had the Motorola Xoom for a year or so now and i love it. Me Mam asked me if I'd sort out a tablet for me Dad's Christmas present and I settled on the Motorola Xoom 2 media edition at £190 from Debenhams plus

Hi Hugh,

guess you need this week...but if you can wait a bit and if you think any good, apparently 3g version coming out soon - think extra £30 or so

I did notice that Dave, otherwise it looks a good device.

prob gonna go for the Sony if I can get one at the right price, bit of a toss up tween the HTC and the galaxy tab otherwise.

Replace her phone with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2? 5.5" screen and everything in one device. Otherwise I'd say to get a Nexus 7 and just use tethering from your smartphone, works perfectly.
