bit of wet gilding

this shop had its window put in , in the riots of last year.
I painted the lettering badly above about 17 years ago.......
Image
cheap immitation gold, 5'' squares= no joints, I put too much size in, had to wash it off with wire wool.... didn't want to pay the £50 for 25 leaves of 3'' = 15 square inches per bullsgeye

this shop is directly opposite, I did this 15 years ago, 23..75 carat on enamel, -wbp ply, 15 years and the joint hasn't split, and the enamel hasn't faded..... they have painted the shop 15 times since......
--------------------------------
Image
this one is further up the road, redone someone elses job,
handy as green and stone are just up the road, made the customer buy the gold on her card..........What a total pain in the harris painting a 20 foot long fascia in tile red satin with no wet line stopping - 3 times

I'm jealous of your gilding skills.
I've been gilding (or attempting to) for about 10 years now and I still never get it right.
Love.....Jill

Yea, nice work there Steve. Another dying art around here and not many willing to pay the price, alas.
