We've been using Rightons lately. Can't beat them for service and pretty competitive price wise too.

Nick.

Just remember that the cheapest is not always the best, with Foamex some of the cheaper brands contain a lot more air and obviously less plastic, this means that they are more likely to warp with changes in temperature as the air expands.

I've used a few over the years, and it seems the longer you stay with them, the worse deal you start getting.... I've chopped and changed between Righton, william cox etc to get the best prices and service, but at present mainly use Armari.
I also find Amari can work out how to get the panels I've asked for out of the sheets I've asked for with far less hassle, infact there's generally no need for me to explain. This was driving me mad with Robert Horne, couple of times I had to draw it out before they'd accept it could be done, can't be bothering with that. :-?

I usually do a quick sketch now in Flexi to confirm the cuts.
RH really screwed me once when I ordered two sheets of ACM with one of them cut. The cuts easily all fitted onto one sheet and I expected one whole sheet uncut. To my surprise the cuts were evenly distributed throughout the two sheets and I had loads of useless off cuts.
After a bit of complaining I eventually did get another sheet, but lesson learnt.

Righton is the one for me. Great prices, great service and cut whatever for free.

Mo - do you have a laminator? Use it for flood coating. I know this might be stating the obvious, but hey ho.

Might take a few goes to get your tension etc correct, but once you do your away.

Yeah thanks Andy i have a cold laminator 1500 wide so that would do the job, I'll get some wide black low grade vinyl in and try that.

The black foam board works out at £45 a sheet and I can only get 2 boards out of that, if I use white then Its only £25 a sheet and I can get 3 out of that sheet (larger sheet)

If I flood coat it probably works out about £20 cheaper per unit so worthwhile for the product I'm producing, although I can feel some early mistakes coming on...lol

Nothing new there, If I had sold everything I have screwed up in the learning process this year then I think I would a very wealthy man..lol I hate seeing my profit margin decrease when I screw up, and hate it even more when someone else does it....

It's really hacked me off today, had to re do a 300x600mm full colour sign 3 times and it's still not right, first the cut not deep enough, then laminate went on wrong, then aligned it wrong..... ARRGGGGGGH.. now I'm paying the customer to make the sign for him :( Doh!

Hi Mo,

Just make sure your tension is right on the rollers, board and vinyl if you are flood coating a full sheet it can be a bit tricky.

Hi Mo,

Your UKSB price from RHG for a quality black foam would have saved you more than £50 , we also cut and del FOC, We do an economy version too.

Hope that helps next time.
