I bought mine from Hexis but I was never completely happy with it.
Printed and cut fine on an SP300 but if you'd printed on the side for the glass (as you would) it didn't seem to cling properly and kept falling off.

I ended up using temp clear backed with white.

go carefully here george! look for my old thread! i dont think there is a whiite cling for solvent inks, they are for screen printing! we tried the clear backed with white vinyl but had issues down the line! if its a big quantity i would sub it, if its not be very cautious!!

cheers

Hi George
We use Metamark MD-SC 100 white with great results. You can give it a 100% ink coverage and it will stick to both the inside and outside of a window. We print it on a low heat and try not to cut straight after printing and leave a couple of hours so that the ink gasses out. We have cut straight after but we have made sure it is being done on a roll to roll method so as to stop any curling

Hi Guys,

Penstick digital self cling.
print on the white side and the printed side sticks to the inside of the window, the more white the better the cling, the solvent ink seems to soften the face and add some cling to it, never had any issues with it, 1370mm x 25m i think.

I have to agree with Cameron here. I have printed on Penstick using a solvent printer (Cadet) without any problems

Got the same results as Stephen even with the Penstick stuff ended up having to redo five sticker jobs that were supplied over a 6 month period.

Selfcling

I print a lot of self cling, using Grafityp at the moment. Very thin clings well but must be solvent ink & left to gass out 24 hrs before application. Ive heard but not seen that other inks transfer to the glass & solvent will if applied too soon.

The ones I did were nearly all over and were left to gas for a few days then cut.
They would cling if conditions were perfect and a lot of care was taken with fitting but they all fell off eventually.

I may get some of the penstick and try that as I've some window stickers to do soon.

Self Cling

I had 1 on my car for 5 years 100% ink coverage never came off.
The glass does need to be very clean but water & vinegar only, no spray cleaners that can leave a residue, apply wet & use squeeze to remove water, not too much pressure. Hope this helps

I have used a couple of rolls of Penstick prints and cuts fine.

Did do some tax disc style stickers though, I tried one on my van which after a few months I removed and it left ink on the screen, may have been where I didn't leave it to gas..but also may not have been so beware, although didn't hear back from the customer..........yet :D

Sample is on it's way to you Georgio, :car:
