Now we have to PAY to send a VAT return!

I was just reading the VAT notes with my return and see that from 1st October they will no longer supply a pre-paid envelope, just an addressed envelope which WE have to put a stamp on.
Since we are already UNPAID tax collectors who can get heavily fined if we make a mistake, it seems a bit rich of them to do this.

Well it's Monday - moans are allowed...

I vote we organise a campaign of civil disobedience and get everyone to send these back without stamps on - that way they'll have to troop down to the sorting office and pay the postage themselves - that'll teach them. :-?

Just sent mine off. Was very tempted not to bother with a stamp. When people post me stuff without a stamp it's a trip to the sorting office, then pay for the stamp myself plus £1 ish handling fee. Wonder what would happened if we didn't put stamps on?

sent my Return off last week and noticed the need for a stamp.

thought the government was all for helping small business get through the credit crunch, (:) now we have to pay, to pay them :o

unpaid tax collectors, don't get me started..... VAT, PAYE, maternity pay, student loan repayments, etc, etc, .... some days i do ask if it is all worth it when the family over the road don't work and have a better car than me and go abroad two times a year  (!)

Independently it's impossible to have any clout with these robbers as for the price of a stamp it isn't worth spending time on, and they know that.

If only there was a way of collectively getting NOBODY to put a stamp on.

Perhaps the FSB should look at this?
