UV Flat bed / Hybrid printers - Any owners out there?

Hi Fellow Uksignboarders / sign makers,

Trying to find a UV printer preferably a flatbed we think
but at this stage there is many on the market but not many in the field to
have a look at downunder. Well there may be but thru the dealers don't have many contacts.

Apparently and reading the previous post the colorspan display maker seem good, there is a new machine called vizionjet which is under $100K
looks ok , is a hybrid.

What i'm asking does anybody have any advice on signshops / screenprint shops who may have a machine and have some works or warning or praise for any machines.
Pricing is pretty similar its just working thru the finer print / details to get the best printer for us.

Hope all is well with everyone and all the best for 2007
I know bit late, got to check in here more often

HI There,

Might not be the same as in the UK but i would check the following , no names mentioned as we sell them!!
Check Ink prices and make sure you don't need to prime material before printing , sounds silly but unbelievably have come across people selling a very popular machine claiming this has to be done.Primer adds to the cost obviously.
If a Higher res is important check the dot size eg typically each droplet is 50pcl a drop size of 30pcl is now available at entry level and allows better quality.
2nd most popular substrate size over here is 10 x 5 = 1560 x 3050 , make sure it can print edge to edge 1560 and 1600mm if printing reels as these are the most common sizes along with 1372mm wide.

Just my thoughts on saving time and being able to use standard substrates without adding to your work.
Regards

Cameron, I'm not looking to buy one, not much chance of that I just like to try and keep up with what is going on in the industry just in case.

Maybe You should take a look at the OCE Arizona 250 GT. From the specs it should be the best UV printer.
