UK Internet help

I shall be in England in July for a week or so, I'll have my trusty laptop and was thinking of signing up for an internet account for the time I am there. Phoning my Australian account would be horrendously costly.

Can such a thing be done? Are there casual "pay as you go" type accounts in England?
Or would I be better off going to an internet cafe?

I would like to use my computer so I can do any quotes/designs to email back to the workshop, not as easy to do at a public workstation.

Advice from any local lad or lass would be appreciated!

You can get a Freeserve 'No Ties' account. You only pay for the calls and there is no monthly charge. When you stop using the account it will lapse then get deleted after a certain period of inactivity.

Hello

these guys connect you to the web for the price of a local call while you are in the UK. You don't have to sign up for anything, just put the access number, user name and password.

Thanks lads, much appreciated.
Andy, I have no plans to get to Portsmouth, very very sad it is, I'll be staying in Norwich at my sister's place, I will be travelling to Bournemouth at some stage, if I can get along the coast to see you, I surely will. I have a cousin in Southsea I'd like to see also.

Hey Steve, we might be related, well we have the same hairstyles at least

Thanks for the invite Adrian, boy this is frustrating, I'd love to visit you all but would need another three weeks.

You invited me to call in back in 99 when I was last there, and I didn't make it, I'll try again
I have you in my address book Adrian, thanks.
