Tekcel CNC Solutions launch New ground breaking cutters!
Tekcel CNC Solutions has recently launched several new cutters specifically designed to deliver ground-breaking cutting performance and tool life cycles for all types of CNC routers used in the machining of plastics, woods, metals, composites and laminates
Perhaps best known for its class leading, CNC routing and cutting systems, Tekcel also supplies a wide range of innovative cutters and tooling used by this type of technology. Responding to customer demand for new CNC cutters that would produce better results across the diverse range of sheet materials used in the manufacture of signs and display products, Tekcel has embarked on a quest to revolutionise the cutters and tooling traditionally available for CNC routers.
High on the wish list for router owners was a cutter that would dramatically improve the edge finish when cutting clear and coloured acrylic. Following a long period of research and development, involving Tekcel and one of Europe’s foremost tool manufacturers, a range of cutters has been designed specifically to produce an incredible edge finish across a wide range of sheet materials, including acrylic, aluminium and aluminium composite panels, used in the sign industry.
Customers already using the new range say that the CP and CP-Al cutters produce an edge finish that they would normally associate with parts that have undergone the additional time and expense of a secondary polishing process. They also report that the new cutters are lasting up to twice as long as conventional cutters. To complement this new range, Tekcel has also introduced a bevelling tool that also delivers a polished finish.
With more and more print being applied to foam board sheets, either direct or on vinyl, Tekcel identified a need for a cutter that would provide a clean cutting action without damaging the print or lifting vinyl. Tekcel set about tackling the problem and developed a range of cutters to do just that. Corrugated plastic sheet, such as Correx, is another type of material that has frustrated router owners but not anymore. Tekcel has designed a cutter to take care of that niche product too. Cutting laminated wood-based products such as MDF and Ply has also been re-visited by Tekcel. The result is new cutter that produces a ‘scissor action’ that eliminates ‘feathering’ to leave clean edge on both top and bottom of the material.
