Arlon Announces Expansion of Manufacturing Facility
Arlon Graphics LLC is pleased to announce the commencement of an 18 month project to expand and relocate its manufacturing to an upgraded facility in Placentia (Orange County), California. The new facility increases capacity, improves material flow, and nearly doubles the size of its current location.
Arlon is also investing in numerous operational upgrades at the new location including a $7.0 million state-of-the-art adhesive coating line, new ERP & CRM software, energy efficient lighting, air, and water systems, and upgraded environmental controls for its mixing and coating operations.
According to Arlon President Ron Hopkins, “Strong demand for new products, recent marketing initiatives, expansion of exports, and the success of our lean manufacturing deployment has resulted in sales growth of over 50% since the 2009 recession. Our main coating lines run 24/7 and it is time to invest in order to support our global growth ambitions.”
Arlon, a 55 year old company employs over 200 people worldwide. It manufactures and markets a wide range of pressure sensitive films and materials for outdoor visual applications such as sign, vehicle and fleet decoration, car wrapping, and retail imaging. Arlon is a leading base manufacturer of cast film and the majority of Arlon’s products are engineered for high durability, long life applications. It manufactures over 7000 SKUs and markets globally, exporting almost 50% of its production to over 50 countries. In 2011, Arlon was purchased by FLEXcon, a large, privately held polymeric coating and laminating company based in Spencer, Massachusetts.
