Looked at that too Nicola seems expensive though, probably better to use the pay monthly ones and pay the installation fee.

Mike that looks like the cheapest yet

Thanks Dave

just to let you know i purchased this today.
I looked at the one online but decided to get one when out shopping this weekend so i could ask some questions and compare with others.
unless you use the net on your laptop "allot" i dont see the point in going for the orange "contract" at £15 per month. specially not when i get my emails sent directly to my mobile anyway.
i forgot the name of the other brand but they also offered a web on the go package (pay as you go) but cost £70 for dongle and £15 per 1 gig of download. in the end, i opted for the one nik has posted. online it says £99 but in the shop... "phones 4 you" it cost £79 but you MUST take a £20 top up... so you get 5 days free by buying from the shop rather than buying online. i dont use the laptop enough to justify a contract. nor did i want to limit myself to 1 gig at £15 a pop...
so anyway... i have my broadband dongle now and i will be trying it out over the week down in birmingham nec. a good test for its broadband connection quality while on the move, will be me travelling by train for 5 hours from glasgow to the NEC.
ill keep you posted.

how slow would that be mate?
ill get upto 2 meg i think it is from anywhere with a mobile phone reception.
9/10 times ill be in hotels, maybe doing a signing tour or in a meeting. no real remote locations and plenty good surrounding connections. i do spend a fair bit on these £15 per day hotel connections as it is... so this way im not limited on anything and its pay as i go from ANY mobile phone top up source.

I got the 3 one on pay as you go. Had to spend several nights in London, and wasn't prepared to pay the extortionate hotel rates. Was connecting at almost 4mb, paid for itself in no time!

Quick update on this. In the end i went for the "3" payg dongle £49.99 and 3gb is £15 and lasts 30 days. Been using it now for a week (only 200mb used) and it has been perfect. Looks like to beat the competiton by miles on price and "3" reckon they have the best 3g/hsdpa coverage in the UK.
